There's a youtube channel called What is Going on With Shipping that explains what happened to the ship moments before the incident.
The crew appears to have done everything they could have possibly done.
Unfortunately, the circumstances were overwhelming.

Also interesting is the 4-3 vote by the Colorado Supreme Court and the unanimous decision by the SCOTUS.JoeMemphis wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2024 10:15 am It’s strange how two different courts can read the same plainly written language in the US Constitution and yet come to polar opposite decisions.

The most relevant sentence from the decision.....
Because the Constitution makes Congress, rather than the States, responsible for enforcing Section 3 against federal officeholders and candidates, we reverse.

She's the most exciting player in college basketball right now. Simply an amazing talent.
I'm hopeful that her run continues and she breaks the current NCAA scoring record held by Petr Maravich.

Calvin and Hobbes - great and abstract cartoon that properly balanced the world of imagination and real life
The Far Side - one of the greatest cartoons ever
Dilbert - Hilarious to people with experience in corporate culture and probably a solid "meh" to everyone else

It’s been down below zero, and we had somewhere between four and six inches of snow, and everyone officially freaked out. Government offices were closed for two days, and schools still aren’t open. They are expecting freezing rain later today, so I suspect they’ll be closed tomorrow, too. Although ...

Re: Anyone Cold?
There are two cold seasons in the upper midwest. First cold where lowering temps chase us into our coats at 50 degrees because we haven't acclimated ourselves to the cold. Last cold where rising temps find us golfing outside in sweatshirts at 50 degrees because anything above freezing feels luxurious.

Almost 20 below yesterday with 25 mph winds from the northwest in my corner of South Dakota. Too cold to do anything outside except for the people with livestock. They never get a day off. Up to 10 below today with no wind and sunshine. Tolerable. If archery deer season was still open I would hunt t...

I'm a huge fan of self checkouts. Especially when I need me a diablo sandwich, a Dr. Pepper, and make it quick, I'm in a god-damn hurry. Scan items. Bag.items. Swipe card. Done quickly. We have 3 traditional grocery stores. Walmart, regional chain, and one locally owned. I shop at all 3 at different...

Must argue with that being a life lesson. Since it was life or death for the sheep, I dunno if they appreciated the comradery off the job. I mean, the things the right is doing now is life or death for many. And do you think Hitler and Churchill should have went out for a beer at the end of the day...

Re: What Shows Did You Like as a Teenager or Younger
Looking back, there were many life lessons taught in Saturday morning cartoons. For example - the sheep dog vs. the coyote. They said good morning to each other, punched their time cards, and went about their daily routines. The coyote trying to take a sheep. The sheep dog trying to stop the coyote ...

No, I don't have their plan. But I have a relative on my wife's side that's pretty high up at Ford - and they have a quite generous plan for the execs. There's a right way and a wrong way to do pensions. The problem with the autoworker's plans was that the company wasn't putting any money into it, ...

Ted, I have a serious question for you - if a CEO that makes $30 million a year deserves a company-provided defined benefit pension plan, why don’t the worker who makes $20 or $30 an hour deserve one, too? Isn’t it going to be tougher for him to retire comfortably without one than it is for the CEO...

What Clinton did didn't rise to the level needed for impeachment. It was a sexual act among consenting adults and it was adultery on both their parts. Clinton was the one who carried the burden for it because he was the senior person who held a position over someone in an inferior position within t...
