Re: It’s Hard to Overstate the Danger of the Voting Case the Supreme Court Just Agreed to Hear

The idea that state legislatures should be unaccountable to their state constitutions and courts is an extremist, fringe idea. One is entitled to their opinion. I am entitled to point out the flaws with it. The Constitutional Law Theory That Could Upend American Elections https://www.democracydocke...

Re: A Really great Idea if We Weren't so Divided

I'd add once reservoirs/basins are 75-70% full then feed known aquifers. Right now, coastal desalination plants require a lot of energy and I don't think there's enough space along our coasts to support solar panels in sufficient quantities to make it work. Recently, a nuclear desalination plant in...

The idea of diverting Mississippi River water to the West is just that, an idea that won't go anywhere. Instead of diverting water from the Mississippi River why not build canals to channel runoff from areas that flood yearly to reservoirs throughout the West. I’ve had this discussion with friends ...

All I will say is if he wanted to engage in private and solitary prayer, he could have gone to some place other than the middle of the football field. The school told him the same thing, and suggested several options. Fascinating question: does your right to pray under religious freedom give you a ...

Re: Griswold v. Connecticut

Loving v Virginia was secured by the “equal protection” clause not the spurious “substantive due process”.

I’ve already mentioned that Roe might have stuck under the “equal protection” clause. By the way, RBG also believed that Roe should have been equal protection.

That was the issue in Engel vs. Vitale. Nobody has a problem with individuals voluntarily praying in (public) school. You can do it quietly during the moment of silent meditation. You can voluntarily meet with other students, even faculty and staff, pray out loud too to your heart's content, as lon...

Yeah, joining the coach could be the difference between starting and riding the bench. But that's okay with the idiotic right. They believe in religious freedom - the freedom of the religious to force you to abide by and participate in their faith. That doesn’t happen. Coach plays the best players....

No, it simply reality. You see, he can't go off by himself and pray. He has to go to the fifty-yard line and do it as publicly as possible, to shame others into joining him, and rejecting publicly those who don't join him. Of course, they don't care that the Bible teaches differently. Because it's ...

Well, we knew that was coming too. Yep, Christian prayer is fine. Try to pray to another God, of course, and see what happens. One more step towards theocracy, whether Americans want it or not. Fewer Americans today are religious than ever before, and if they can't get you to do what they tell you ...
