Re: Roe down, Griswold, Lawrence and Obergefell next on chopping block

The reason I am not interested is Justice Thomas is frequently full of shit. That is another of his beliefs I am not interested in. You asked. Rather ignorant to avoid the clause that invites the recognition of individual rights because you don’t like the guy who proposes it. Me, I’ll pursue that l...

Re: Roe down, Griswold, Lawrence and Obergefell next on chopping block

Can't have it both ways. If the right to privacy is "fabricated," then Griswold needs to go, also. Of course, I don't agree that it is. Of course, I'm one of those folks, who doesn't think the Constitution only protects rights that are specifically and precisely enumerated at the founding...

Re: Roe down, Griswold, Lawrence and Obergefell next on chopping block

I don't know, it would seem to me that the current court is looking to establish political policy. Thomas has indicated that they should revisit some of the other decisions. Considering he voted against Obergfell and Lawrence he clearly sees them as not deserving of Constitutional protection. He no...

Re: Roe down, Griswold, Lawrence and Obergefell next on chopping block

Roe was "not in danger" at one point, too. Same can be said for “Plessy v Ferguson” Roe was a fabrication. “Made up out of Whole Cloth”. If the court had simply declared the law unconstitutional on equal protection grounds it might have stuck. But once they fabricated the right to privacy...

Re: Supreme Court breaks down wall between church and state

The ultimate aim of this Supreme Court is to make the Establishment Clause unconstitutional. Just put out decisions that says that the Constitution doesn't mean what it says. Because it's inconvenient to their ultimate goals. And you're fully on board with this, while pretending you're not in favor...

More from Justice Kavanaugh’s concurrence. “ But the parties’ arguments have raised other related questions, and I ad- dress some of them here. First is the question of how this decision will affect other precedents involving issues such as contraception and mar- riage—in particular, the decisions i...

Re: Roe down, Griswold, Lawrence and Obergefell next on chopping block

First thing that needs to occur is to bring forth legislation to codify abortion rights. Use it to hi lite opposition to target in the upcoming midterms. A couple of observations. No one signed on to the Thomas opinion. So he’s not likely to get any support on his opinion from the other five. Robert...

That question, while interesting ... all I will note is I notice a lot of men (and some TERFs) claiming to speak for all female athletes are calling for or supporting bans ... but ... Many women's athletic organizations favor and support the inclusion of trans athletes on women's teams. This is one...

Re: Supreme Court breaks down wall between church and state

Me of all people has been teaching on this subject for years. Me knows that many American colonists came to these shores seeking freedom from the tyranny of the Anglican Church, like the Puritans, and then when they established their colonies, turned around and denied it to others. Like the Quakers...

Re: The LGBTQ Rights Thread.

In men's basketball, a seven-foot player has an unfair advantage. Should they be banned from the game? Short guys are simply excluded from the game. I’ve seen a number of 7 footers who have no advantage. The sport functions quite normally with the big men. That 7 footer can’t stop the deadly three ...

We have theocrats ON the Supreme Court! They'll prove that in a few days with their abortion decision. They will make their religious beliefs into law. Let's be clear: The idea that "life begins at conception" is a religious, not scientific viewpoint. Most of the right are theocrats. They...

So, if the Nation of Islam wants to have a school, no discrimination, right? All the government needs to do is to fund the schools. Pretty damned simple.
