Re: Iowa's Caitlin Clark - NCAA Woman phenom
Um, I may not understand - but that's what they are doing now. Next Friday is the two women's, games, Saturday the men's, Sunday the women's final, and Monday the men's. In 2021, the NCAA commissioned an investigation after social media reports showed the NCAA treated the women as second-class NCAA...

Re: The Last of Us
Anyone watching? I played part of the first game, and less than part of the second game. Nothing to do with the games, but as I age I become less and less interested in video games. My son, however, has played them both multiple times. What's cool is it's filmed in Calgary, my birthplace, and a fam...

I pretty much agree with you. I don't watch any Pro Basketball, I do watch college. Women's college basketball is very good and very exciting. They do things that men's basketball, ESPECIALLY the NBA, has long forgotten. Passing the ball, playing defense. With men's basketball, it's all about showb...

The kid and i have had that kind of conversation for a long time now. i grew up on boom boom Brown who once stated the shortest distance between the goals is straight ahead. They did take their lickings. He on the other hand thinks they're like the race horses of today. Highly strung, finely tuned,...

So, there is a fan/viewer problem. We all know the WNBA doesn't get the audience numbers the regular NBA does. This appears to be the case because, BTW, WNBA players foul each other less often. and also injure each other less often. So, fewer people tune in - say the sport is "less exciting&qu...

Re: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Passes Basketball to LeBron James After Breaking Record
It happened at the perfect point in the game with just a few seconds left in the third quarter. A well done and well deserved celebration took place.
Then the Lakers lost the game.
Lebron is one of the NBA's all-time great players and seems to be a genuinely good person as well.

Joe, Glenn, give me good reasons why the House leadership shouldn't put Santos up for a vote to throw him out of the House? Any decent person would throw him out. A vote to remove him should be 100%. So why not? Here's a quick summary of almost everything associated with Santos. https://media.tenor...

Re: GOP Bigshot Matt Schlapp accused in groping incident
So, Ted, in a situation where there are no witnesses, how do you decide who is at fault? The accuser seems credible and may be telling the absolute and unfiltered truth about what happened. The opposite may also be true. My experience tells me not to decide who is at fault in situations like this b...

Investigate.
Determine what happened.
Enforce appropriate sanctions.
If he did what he's accused of doing then he needs to be held accountable for his actions.

Basketball Ref Oopsie
During a basketball game the assistant coaches were chirping at the officials. Constantly disagreeing with calls and vocalizing displeasure with no-calls. Nothing rising to the level of a technical foul, but something that needed to be addressed by the officials because only head coaches are suppose...

Re: Gas vs. Electric in a snowstorm
I guess you didn’t see the Reuters fact check in the second post of the thread. Sure did. It mentions EVs in traffic jams - not extreme cold. Nowhere in the Reuters fact check in the second post is the effect of cold on EV batteries discussed. And my version of being stuck in vehicle in a snowstorm...

My brother-in-law in Tampa, FL has an electric Mustang. Hasn't had cold-weather trouble YET. So maybe your friends are outliers!   Tampa is known for having one of the most inhospitable winter climates in the northern hemisphere. I hope they live in a well insulated home and own war...

Re: Gas vs. Electric in a snowstorm
I know a few EV owners. Most of the time they love their electric vehicles. Even in "cold" weather. When the temps get really cold (below 10-15 degrees) they tell me that they won't leave town in their EVs because the battery performance in extreme cold has been abysmal. There will probabl...

Re: NCAA Women's Volleyball Tournament
It's really an amazing thing to watch. Volleyball used to be something that I followed every four years during the Olympics. That changed when my daughters started playing. Now, I find myself tuning into volleyball all the time. Our youngest spent most of a week at a volleyball camp in Nebraska last...
