Right now i don't listen to anything on my computer. No sound. Don't know what's going on. If it was still XP, I'd say screw it and reformat. But it's Windows 10 (upgraded from Windows 8) and I don't have a clue.

So no music/videos/movies on my computer.

The Temptations' Dennis Edwards dies at 74: 'Helped define Detroit soul'
Dennis Edwards, the Detroit singer whose gritty, electric vocals led the Temptations into a new phase of their career, died Thursday night in a Chicago hospital. He was 74.

Edwards, who joined the iconic Motown group in 1968 in the wake of David Ruffin's firing, was the prominent voice on enduring Tempts hits such as "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone," "Ball of Confusion (That's What the World is Today)" and "Cloud Nine." He remained a staple of the core group through the 1980s, and in the '90s formed a splinter act that eventually toured as the Temptations Review Featuring Dennis Edwards.

In later years, Edwards said he was appreciative of the audiences that kept him performing regularly, and he looked back fondly on his glory years with the Temptations.

"All of a sudden, here you’re a guy on the block and you’re singing with these legends," he told the Free Press in 2016 about joining the group. "Well, you had to bring your game up. I was just so proud."

A Motown Museum representative and others close to Edwards confirmed his death. Edwards, a graduate of Detroit's Eastern High School (now Martin Luther King High), mostly recently lived in the St. Louis area, and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that he died of complications from meningitis, for which he was initially hospitalized last spring.............

I've been listening to a LOT of this Los Angeles band, Orgone. If you like early 70s funk, disco, boogie, prog, MoWest/Motown when they just moved to LA, Chicago/Tower of Power style horns, and a mix of all of the above with STELLAR vocals, you'll love Orgone

Last Friday, after watching Doc Martin on the local PBS station, they had a program called Live at the Belly Up featuring a band called Beats Antique. Initially, I was doing something else and had it on in the background but the sound was intriguing and I started listening listening to it and I liked it. Their performances is about 28 minutes and if you play should play it on a sound system other than computer speakers such as a TV sound bar system.

I know that everybody is worn and tired by the meandering course of everything. Take music. It seems old tunes are just dated relics that are just dead ends. Or are they?

Instead, try listening again.

Vatican: Salvadoran Archbishop Óscar Romero Will Become a Saint
MAR 08, 2018
And the Vatican has announced that Salvadoran Archbishop Óscar Romero will become a saint. Archbishop Romero was a champion for the poor and oppressed, who was murdered by a U.S.-backed right-wing death squad in 1980 at the beginning of the brutal war in El Salvador. Only weeks before his assassination, Romero wrote a letter to U.S. President Jimmy Carter calling on him not to provide military aid to the right-wing Salvadoran military government. Then, in the archbishop’s final and now-infamous sermon, he made a direct appeal to Salvadoran soldiers to lay down their weapons.

Archbishop Óscar Romero: “In his name and in the name of our tormented people, who have suffered so much and whose laments cry out to heaven, I implore you, I beg you, I order you: Stop the repression!”
One day after giving this sermon, gunmen assassinated Archbishop Romero while he was celebrating mass. Nearly 40 years later, Salvadoran Archbishop Óscar Romero will now be made a saint.

One more time. May have been the first record I ever had. Accounts of the recording are pretty interesting. It seems it was pretty spontaneous.
