Well the good ol' days may not return
And the rocks might melt and the sea may burn

I'm learning to fly, but I ain't got wings
Coming down is the hardest thing

Well some say life will beat you down
Break your heart, steal your crown
So I've started out for God knows where
I guess I'll know when I get there

I just learned today that Fred Trump, the Orange Slug's father once evicted Woody Guthrie. Woodie wrote a song just for Fred:

I just stumbled across this. It's from 1981 "Bob Welch and Friends Live at the Roxy". Stevie Nicks and Mick Fleetwood sitting in with Welch's band, and they do Gold Dust Woman. I think it's just great...Fleetwood seems to be having the time of his life, and I'll betcha it's from the period where he and Stevie Nicks were sharing a bed.

If anybody's interested, the whole concert is on YouTube at:

"What do you play in the band?"

"The spear and shield."

They took their lyrics from ancient Norse and Proto-Germanic runic inscriptions.

I posted some Aeolians in this thread viewtopic.php?p=454354#p454354" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; but I've been listening to them ever since that post.

They have to be one of the best choruses in the world, especially if you know the Negro Spirituals tradition and what they do with the arrangements. Amazing.

Karla Bonoff released a new album recently. This song isn't one of the cuts but I thought it was nice. Their voices really compliment.

Smashing Pumpkins - Watchmen

[Verse 1]
Send a heartbeat to
The void that cries through you
Relive the pictures that have come to pass
For now we stand alone
The world is lost and blown
And we are flesh and blood disintegrate
With no more to hate

[Chorus]
Is it bright where you are?
Have the people changed?
Does it make you happy you're so strange?
And in your darkest hour
I hold secrets flame
We can watch the world devoured in its pain

[Verse 2]
Delivered from the blast
The last of a line of lasts
The pale princess of a palace cracked
And now the kingdom comes
Crashing down undone
And I am a master of a nothing place
Of recoil and grace

[Bridge]
Time has stopped before us
The sky cannot ignore us
No one can separate us
For we are all that is left
The echo bounces off me
The shadow lost beside me
There's no more need to pretend
Cause now I can begin again
-- Tis an ill wind that blows no minds.
Malaclypse the Younger
