Roberta Flack

Imo there is nothing a person can catch worse than ALS also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.
Personally if I ever caught it my life expectancy would be very short.
I know saying thoughts and prayers is cliche and ridiculous.
But, thoughts and prayers to her and her loved ones

I saw that. She was a great talent, it's got to be tough to lose it. Our sympathies go out to her.

Roberta Flack's family was forced into segregation by asshole families like yours.

F. your thoughts and prayers.

Roberta Flack is my parents' age.

These conservative whites think they are entitled to enjoying their talent, which was born and made of the extreme social struggles imposed by their kind.

Now they want to grandstand about pitying her condition, f. that, and f. them.

:? segregation is the hate-filled bigotry.

Your votes and your community forced millions into legalized, hate-filled bigotry.

Talking about these facts is only "hate-filled bigotry" to people who think you're supposed to get away with these atrocities.

Yes 70 years ago things were really bad. But only an ignorant hate filled bigot like you would hate people today because of things that happened before they were born

Things were bad AFTER I was born, Glenn. It didn't end 70 years ago, and the Southern Strategy is still the way the GOP plays. Charlottesville wasn't 70 years ago, now, was it.

Your Big Lie is that blacks no longer suffer from racism and discrimination.

I accidentally just read something it said, is it alleging Babe Ruth was a better baseball player than Willie Mays again?

BTW have you noticed that when he talks to you, the hate and anger jumps off the screen. He rarely comes off that way with us white guys.

"70 years ago" is an arbitrary marker, and I don't know where you get it from.

70 years ago, my parents were kids on their way to being young adults.

So were yours.
But only an ignorant hate filled bigot like you would hate people today because of things that happened before they were born
I don't hate anybody. Your white-supremacist paranoia simply percieves criticism of your bigoted, violent community as "hate."

When I was born, housing segregation by race in my state was still legal and still the cultural norm. School districts in my region of the state were segregated by race until the late 1970s.

All of these things happened well within your own lifetime, yet you do not consider those things to be hate-filled; for you, they were the norm, you benifitted from them, and you plan to continue to benefit from them.

That's why you vote for the demagogues you do, support the human-trafficking policies you do, champion anti-LGBTQ discrimination, and think 19 year olds screwing high schoolers is love.

"70 years ago" is you, because you perpetuate it every two years.

So explain to me how today's racism is the same as 70+ years ago.
In today's USA an African American has the same ability to advance as my children and grandchildren.

Your only point in bringing up "70+ years ago" is to minimize what happened to my parents and older relatives "70+ years ago."

That's the same mentality that created those conditions, and why they lasted so long.
In today's USA an African American has the same ability to advance as my children and grandchildren.
"Today's USA" is not good enough. We know this because of the ferocity of you backlashers.

You guys still believe segregation, Indian boarding schools, eugenics, immigration quotas, and all your vigilante violence that went along with it was justified, just as you guys did, then.

You don't GAS about what Roberta Flack or her family had to endure because of people like you, but you sure are to quick to run around grandstanding about African-American celebrities every chance you get.

Did I say it's the same.

And no they don't. Blacks suffer racism and discrimination. Women suffer discrimination. But you want to pretend white males are the ones discriminated against.

No, it wasn't. Southern whites were viciously against it, and killed to keep it from happening.

And white juries never brought a white person to justice for killing blacks. Even when it was four little black girls.

You're not owed anything.

"People like you" vote for this.
^who said it, and when?

Two points if you have what it takes to acknowledge in print where this quote is from.

I'll give you a really big hint: it wasn't "70+ years ago."

That's why this white supremacist votes for it.

These policies are designed to appeal to white supremacists, and politicians like that are a part of Dixiecratism.

All they did was change the D after their name to an R.

Bonus points if you have the nads to say it out loud.
Ok of course you are misrepresenting what he said.
He was obviously speaking figuratively that any person can go anywhere they want. Meaning of course they can climb the ladder of success.
However if you are a hard-core liberal you will have about as much of a chance as a hard-core conservative would have where you live.
