To make a movie as bad as what I watched last night,

I was out of town at a trade show and the hotel had movies. So I decided to watch “Geostorm”. I hadn’t seen any reviews but saw previews in the theatre and thought it would just be some brain candy.

It was almost unwatchable. They didn’t develop the characters worth a damn. You didn’t care about the characters. The plot was loaded with hokey cliches.

What a piece of crap.

Yeah, it has a 13% critic rating at Rotten Tomatoes. Total splat.

This is their front-page spiel: "Lacking impressive visuals, well-written characters, or involving drama, Geostorm aims for epic disaster-movie spectacle but ends up simply being a disaster of a movie."

Fans liked it slightly better, but even their rating only reaches 40%.

I don't mind camp that's deliberately bad and doesn't take itself seriously - obviously I put Sharknado in this category - but this doesn't seem to be that; my guess is this one is soon to face the critics of MST3K.

P.S. I'm getting a distinct feel that tonight and next week's X-Files episode are very camp. They occasionally do episodes like that, "Jose Chung" most notably, and they work, but this one felt off.

Yeah, I should have checked. Live and learn.
