Secret Service Detail and Prison

Post by Glennfs »

https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/donald-tr ... -1.6808177

The last 6 paragraphs of this article explain it all.
If a former president goes to prison his armed detail goes with him. That’s the law.

Fact is a former president would never be less safe than if they were incarcerated.

There is no practical way to incarcerate a former president beyond house arrest.

Regardless of the fantasy some people have about Trump going to prison.

then you say Trump is above the law, no matter how many people die.

See you can't address the issue. Because that would require you admitting that your opinion about what you would like to see happen just isn't workable.

So you say Trump is above the law even if people die because of his calls for assassinations. Got it.

See zero ability to discuss any issue.

No, it's YOU that doesn't want to discuss. It's YOU that thinks Trump is above the law. You don't care if he gets people assassinated.

What if he called YOUR family members out? Would you be good with that?

It's not about being above the law. It is about looking at the situation through a common sense practical real world lense.

Imagine shift change alone with every employee searched.
Imagine every delivery having to be throughly inspected.
Imagine what visiting day would be like. It would take at least an extra hour to get through security.
Imagine the extra expense the extra security would cost.
I have listed on other threads how it would disrupt day to day life.
But you ignore all of that because you never admit that your opinion might be wrong. If you get a fact wrong you admit it. But, never your opinion.

You want vengeance and a big part of that is Trump in prison. No matter how much it is shown or discussed on what the effects would be.

It's not vengeance, it's justice. Anyone else that had done what he's done would be in prison. Look what they put Blogoyavich in prison for. Far less than what Trump has done.

And the expense probably won't be much more than Trump takes the government for renting all the rooms and equipment at his hotels to the Service at wildly inflated prices.

But you think Trump is above the law. Funny how you want to see a guy put into jail for pulling a fire alarm. Or how you want to see children put into jail for shoplifting.

But not Trump! He's too good for that, right?

They did manage to put Al Capone in jail. He was a pretty divisive individual too.

They managed to put Jeffrey Epstein in .... Bad example?

You just can't look beyond your opinion you are lying and doing so intentionally about the fire alarm guy and children.
Why am I not surprised. It is the union boss way. When your opinion is wrong just lie.

First comparing Trump to Capone is ridiculous. Second they sent Capone to Alcatraz for tax evasion for a reason.

Third you have helped prove my point.

Trump acts just like a Mafia Don, and you know it. Telling people to commit crimes on his behalf. He does this all the time.

I give you several reasons that it just isn't feasible. I give you links to wapo articles. I give you reasons and this is your response.

My fault for thinking that you could have an actual discussion about an issue involving Trump

Except that the articles don't say what you say they do. Sounds to me like it's possible.

Again, Trump isn't a king and he should be subject to the law like everyone else. You want kids to go to prison and work chain gangs, but you think Trump shouldn't pay any price at all for his egregious crimes.

If having FORMER PRESIDENT 666 in prison is going to be such a hardship on him, if he is guilty just chuck him in a supermax prison! Since there is no interaction between prisoners, then he should have no problems. Better yet we wouldn't ever have to hear his big mouth again!

Now you're just saying words and somehow managing, perhaps accidentally, to put them in a recognizable pattern. It truly is a very weird form of communication.

Are you like Grandpa Simpson with stories that don't go anywhere?

"prove my point"? That doesn't even make sense. How? What? Where? When?

Are you a badly formed AI? I mean, that could help explain things. Am I missing a translator or something? Cuz..WTAF?

"I'll say this sentence. Let 'em figure it out. HA HA HA. Good luck, suckers, For I am CAPTAIN INCOHERENT!. We have the same words down here in the south, they just have different meanings"

Can anyone else help me here understand just what the hell glen is on about? Cuz (again) WTAF?
