When I read articles like this I would love to know the truth about Trump's mental state. There is no doubt he is "teched" as they would have said in grandpa's time.

But, I would love to know is he actually insane, is it some personality disorder or is it something else.

For example we know that Nixon suffered from paranoia and had a persecution complex.

With Trump we know he is an extreme narcissist. But, we don't know if it goes well beyond that. Personally I believe it does.

My very limited knowledge doesn't go beyond a late brother in law who around age 40 became a paranoid schizophrenic.

As for Trump he reminds me if the character that Bogart played in the Caine Mutiny.

One or two things for sure is we can't allow him to become president again. We are very fortunate that he didn't do any more damage than he did while in office.

Anyway that is my thoughts on it for now glad to have a place to vent

I am objective. People seem to confuse neutrality with objectivity - they are not the same thing. Neutrality when the weight of the evidence points in one direction is silly. (I also make mistakes, too. It happens. Goes with being human.)

Our past resident mental heath expert, whatever his credentials, said he suffered from Narcissistic Personality Disorder. This seems to be a consensus "diagnosis from afar" viewpoint. I don't think he came up with it on his own, it's been widely stated. That said, people in the field will tell you no diagnosis is worth a damn unless they can personally sit down and assess the person. Over several sessions, examinations, and tests. Which to be really reliable you need to administer in person.

I don't work in mental health. But he does appear to fit. He
a) demands loyalty of everyone around him, shows it back to no one (including spouses, family, people who have worked for him for decades, and friends)
b) determines the significance of every event by how it affects him personally (his TV ratings, his poll numbers, his fame, etc.)
c) does those rallies because he is practically addicted to bathing in adulation, and he knows that's where he can get it.

NPD, like most personality disorders, is a neurosis, not a psychosis (I believe).

He does show some detachment from reality, but the problem with my trying an amateur diagnosis is it's never clear what he really believes. He's delusional on some levels, but also get the sense he denies the reality of certain things simply to appeal to aspects of his base. It doesn't matter. Only noting how dangerous the beliefs are.

Can't say for the FBI, but it probably is time for the US Secret Service Presidential Protection Detail to get a thorough housecleaning. It was fraying around the edges before it was asked to protect drumpf, now it has some serious accusations of wrongdoing.
