Donald is taking control. He can't keep hiring incompetent people indefinitely, sooner or later he'll accidentally stumble across someone who knows what they're doing. If you're a Republican, but not MAGA, then you're just RINO.

The current party is very quick to acquiesce, and if they don't they get outed like they're some sort of witch. (To be fair, some probably are).

I didn't agree with McCain's policies (not that it's important if I do or don't), but he was a mostly honorable man. A Republican with honor. They're really hard to find these days. Mostly you're getting people who are crazier and crazier. Liz Cheney, has some honor. She voted party lines most of the time, but wasn't willing to put party over country. Currently, there are far too many who have put country well done the list, not just second or third.

I guess I do have the position of being able to have a slightly more objective view than most here, being on the outside. Yes, I'm liberal, but I think I may be one of the more moderate liberals here.

So, let me tell you, the US's drift towards authoritarianism is alarming, and that it's being conducted by "nincompoops" doubly so.

I get that some don't align with Democratic policies and that's fine, but at least they're sane policies to disagree with. Disagreeable sane policies vs outlandish dangerous policies.
