Actually, I set it up over a week ago, but I wanted to see some of the products first.

First, here it is:

http://www.cafepress.com/RadioFreeLiberal

I started off by buying a large mug and the white cap. I was skeptical at first, but was actually QUITE pleased with how they came out.

I have since added a bunch of other crap (some of the stuff is pretty ridiculous -like the flip cams at a ridiculous markup- but I thought it was neat, so I added it anyways), using the same image layout, so I'd expect they'll all be pretty good too.

There's LOTS of other products we can create...and with different logos. Depending on response, we can be as creative as we want.

Also, as a disclaimer, don't feel obligated AT ALL to buy anything!!! I have the markup set to the barest minimum (our goal isn't to make money off of this - and any profit we do see will go straight back into ads/server costs). We (I) just thought it would be cool to have some branded gear that could help advertise the site a bit more.

Anyways, here's MY images of the actual crap I bought (I proudly wore the cap all day today):

Oh, and finally, this stuff is made in China, probably by child slave-labor, so if that's an issue, I understand if you take a pass. BUT it is printed by American workers (in Kentucky, I believe), so it's not ALL bad.

I was talking with GoU earlier today and we might set up some t-shirts from a quality, US made, union outfit that does VERY nice work as well. But, until then, this is our store.

Let me know what you think!

Cheers,

-P

Also, be warned, the shipping costs are a bit high for UPS...but the products were VERY well packaged...and arrived exactly when they said it would. (you'll see the shipping costs before you checkout).

Best,

And I was thinking of getting one of the aprons too...Damn!

You know, I had the option of adding RFL thongs and other intimate wear, but EVEN I thought that went too far...

I will buy a hat in the next few days defiantly the least we can do.. perhaps other members of the board may help in some small way to. I knot it doesn't cost lots to run this site but it does cost money.

I've got a purchase in mind for a couple weeks as well. And I don't think the shipping is really that bad.

Love the apron in Khaki. You need some assorted colors of beer cozies to go with the aprons for us BBQ enthusiasts.

And for those of us who are older hippies, maybe some tie-dye? A pastel tie-dye shirt would show off the black print pretty well.

Nice looking stuff. But, I'd gladly pay more for it to be made in America by people getting a living wage. Though, why we end up paying more for stuff made here in America is a mystery to me. It doesn't have to travel as far, go through red tape or get lost or damaged as much as all the stuff coming from overseas. I suppose that is a topic for another, er, topic.

Thinking of discontinuing this experiment. A total of 2 people have purchased and I was one of them.

Thank you Kelly!

Anyhow, I will de-sticky this thread soon.

Thanks for looking at least.

Aghhh! You can't close it so soon. I want to make a purchase, but I can't do it right now. Other priorities. Is it costing you money to keep it open? Did you buy a lot of stuff pre-printed, or does it just get printed as someone places an order and you need more volume to keep the business partner?

It's printed on demand and doesn't cost me anything. I just don't see the need to clutter the top of this forum with this sticky thread.

I won't close the store, just unsticking this thread.

Best,

P

Just please leave a link to the store. The past couple of months I've been innundated with medical co-pays and I haven't had any extra money to spend, even though I have my eye on some crap. It's not a failed experiment, P....
