I stayed away from home to long. I had a crappy holiday weekend. I have a kid that is driving me nuts. I was in such a bad move today I couldn't stand myself.

Then I parked for the night and a bunch of Ducks appeared in front of my truck. I took some crackers out of my stash, Fed the ducks and watched them socialize as I ve been chatting with you folks and now all is good.

Next time you are feeling shitty find some ducks to watch and feed.

It is relaxing. Years ago, where I worked, every morning a flock of ducks landed by a creek that ran through the company's property. Many employees came to work early to feed them cracked corn. The flock was unique, in that it was led by a lady goose. It was amazing watching their "V" in the sky with a huge goose at the apex.

I hope Keebler Townhouse crackers are ok. They ate a sleeve in under a minute.

A single feeding probably won't harm them...but a daily diet of bread or crackers can lead to weight gain and malnutrition.

On my walk around town, I sometime come upon a couple of ducks. The thing that's odd is they aren't close to the water. On Sunday, I passed two ducks standing on the sidewalk under the shade of a large tree. Across the street was the city golf course and the nearest water was about 400 feet away. Tuesday, coming off North Island NAB, there was a duck sitting by the stop sign watching traffic go by. The nearest body of water was half-a-mile away. It's interesting to see wildlife up close provided they're not dangerous.
