Larry Hogan says he will support Trump if he’s the nominee https://trib.al/QL2dyhK
Former Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan, a moderate Republican who has long been a critic of former President Trump, said he would support Trump if he is the GOP nominee for president in 2024.
Hogan, who is mulling a White House bid of his own, has said he does not think Trump will be the party’s nominee in 2024. But in an interview with conservative radio talk show host Hugh Hewitt on Thursday, Hogan reluctantly conceded that he would support whomever the GOP’s choice for president is in 2024.

Re: So Much for Larry Hogan
To be clear, I’m not defending Hogan, but here’s more from the article:
It’s almost impossible for a decent man today to be a Republican, and Hogan just needs to realize it.
He’s playing the politician’s game, which is why I could NEVER be a politician. He’s trying not to completely destroy himself with those that do have some support of Trump, if not total. He’s talking to a conservative audience, and he knows that if he said no, he wouldn’t support Trump in any case, that it would be the attack ads everywhere.Hogan later walked back the comments on Twitter, saying he would not commit to supporting Trump if he were the nominee. Instead, he said he would support the nominee, who he doesn’t think will be Trump.
“To be clear, my position on Trump hasn’t changed. Trump won’t commit to supporting the Republican nominee, and I won’t commit to supporting him,” Hogan said on Twitter.
A member of Hogan’s team told The Hill earlier that Hogan’s position on Trump, who he has not supported in the past, has not changed and his promise to support the nominee is contingent on him believing it won’t be Trump.

Good point. My friend who was a politician used to tell me you have to support things [ to a certain degree] which you oppose in.order to get things you do support passed.gounion wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 12:05 pm To be clear, I’m not defending Hogan, but here’s more from the article:

Except when you don’t like it. Like when you blamed the Clintons and Obama for not being for gay marriage, when it was a stand that would immediately mean you could never get elected to anything, but championing it when it was popular.

It's obvious that neither of these guy will make it to an updated version of "Profiles in Courage." They're too afraid of TFG calling them names that they'll say anything to keep that from happening.Drak wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 4:02 pm Here’s another one. Absolute cowards.

Re: So Much for Larry Hogan
It’s funny watching the Republicans. They really don’t know that the light at the end of the tunnel is a train. They are screwed, as I see it. They think Trump will change. Every primary he doesn’t win, he will scream that it’s fixed, and his followers will believe him, and they will turn on all his opponents. But then, it’s even worse if someone else DOES get the nomination. He will run an independent campaign, destroying the GOP nominee all the way, handing everything to the Dems. He is incapable of doing anything else.
