California will offer health insurance to all undocumented immigrants

Post by Libertas »

Heads are exploding on kitchen ceilings all over America and on this board...

https://thehill.com/changing-america/we ... mmigrants/

Thank GOD for this, to not do this guarantees many more of us die.
“This is a victory for the millions of undocumented Californians who contribute $3.7 billion in state and local taxes and over $40 billion in spending power to our economy ever year,” said California state Sen. María Elena Durazo (D).

It is also the thing you do if LIFE is your thing...You cant be PRO LIFE and against this.

California will become the first state to offer all undocumented immigrants, regardless of age, state-subsidized health insurance. It’s expected to take effect in 2024 and it will make California the first state to achieve universal access to health coverage.

The historic move was part of Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D) 2022-23 state budget allocation, which includes expanding the state’s Medi-Cal program. That provides state-funded health insurance to eligible residents and will now cover an additional 700,000 undocumented residents ages 26-49 beginning no later than Jan. 1, 2024.
I sigh in your general direction.

Co vid is making a comeback here, plus because of the unqualified judge saying you dont have to wear them on planes, it is much worse.

Here's the thing. The covid virus doesn't check your papers first. Etc.. Anything that gets health care to more people is good for the economy and the public interest.

This is getting tiresome, trying to convince the unconvincable right in the middle of our country's independence day celebration.

You sound like the KKK, because that’s where you get this ideology from.

What would be the point of trying to convince propagandized people who choose the path of violent ignorance, of anything?

Unqualified Trump judge.

Actually the plane, once you reach pressurization altitude around 10,000 feet, is safer than the terminals. I see the pictures on the Nooz of terminals just packed with unmasked masses waiting hours for security checks and delayed flights. Yesterday I saw maybe 2000 people on various news broadcasts and exactly one (1) one mask.

Thing is I want to go back to New York this year, but if it means cramming into narrow corridors with the unmasked/untested whose political heroes told them covid is over, I won't be able to.

Good point. It's wasted energy. They are a force of nature, like covid. A lot like covid, actually, if you think about both phenomena.

I think the unqualified Trump judge's opinion was limited to the FAA's authority to force airlines to require masks on board their aircraft. Agreed, though, that the public took it to mean that nobody needed to mask up at the airport, period.

I watched it change just on my NYC trip. On the flight out, the terminals and the plane were both about 60% masked. In particular, the terminals at LAX and JFK both had signs on the doors that masks were required, but obviously they'd stopped enforcing it. When we came back to LA not all that much later, we still saw a mask here and there, though a lot fewer then when we went. Now it appears that they are gone altogether.

Person I know stopped going to meetings when they dropped the mask requirement. Since then, a number of people who go to the meetings have had covid. They continue to pass it around. In at least two cases, they tested positive and came anyway.

Still no masks required. That would make people feel uncomfortable.

Tell you what, covid makes you a lot more uncomfortable.
