It's unseasonable weather here in ME in December. It's 49 now and is expected to be in the high 50's tomorrow.

Not that I'm complaining. :)

We might get a little bit of snow here in eastern Iowa over the next day, probably just a dusting.

Out in Nebraska and western Iowa it looks like they'll have more of a white Christmas.

Currently 65 and sunny. A little cooler for tomorrow in the 50's.
You can almost hear our gas and electric company sobbing.

its freakin cold here in westernCO. it has been and will be ahead.
the only better part of this is WCO doesnt usually get blizzards.
i had plenty of them on PalmerDivide. simple reliefs are welcome.

ive been hearing from locals this IS an unusual winter. it began early November.
and it hasnt let up. this long consistent freezing cold is getting on my nerves but
at least im not in WA where by this date December id have six feet of standing snow.

in CO theres avalanches and major MT road closures and...hopefully i just talked a guy into
waiting a few days to drive over the Rockies. :rw) :rw)
good grief, watch the weather.

We've had snow on the ground for several weeks. It's currently -20 degrees/-5 Fahrenheit, and we have a predicted low for -25/-13F.

Nike Town is on snow alert.

It won't happen, though.

We are lucky to get even a week of snow on the ground in this valley and the conditions just don't feel right for snow tonight. Almost there, but just not quite.

Wow! In another 50 years, Maine will be like Florida if this trend continues.

Green grass. In Wisconsin. Two more months of winter.

When my mom was growing up here, cars put 10 foot antennas on cars so they could be seen at intersections from all the snow piled up.

Clinate deniers are a special breed of stupid.

L.A. has had a classic, almost textbook, La Nina pattern for the entire month of December. Chilly, windy, dry for the most part, and with alternating "inside slider" lows and highs moving through rapidly on an energetic jet stream.

Hey, wait, wasn't it supposed to have that other extreme? The one with the guy's name?

So, who got plummeted by blizzards this weekend? We here in Maine missed it. But of course living in Maine only means it's coming for us sooner or later.

I'd make light, but Snowstorm Jonas has already killed 19 people.

I was tempted to make some joke involving the Jonas brothers, or something, but, in this case ... no.

Nada, zip and zero, just the usual January cold and back to the RWNJ's harping about global warming...again.

My brother is in ground 0 of the "blizzard," or as we call it up here, Wednesday.

Slightly warmer than normal here this weekend. However, last weekend it was -35/-31F on Saturday when I went for my morning walk. It stayed that temperature for most of the morning. On Sunday when I walked to the grocery store for groceries it was -32/-26F.

Oh right, that's where it gets so cold that the F and C scales match a few days a year.

L.A. was supposed to be a flood zone by now. It's bone dry, and the forecast is for more of the same. You take away the two inches that a tropical storm dropped in September, and you're well below normal. You can see the El Nino banging around the edges a bit, which is good for drought relief and snow pack up north, but here it's really the same old same old.

What we do see from El Nino is an ample supply of warm air off the Pacific to move to the SE US and provide more energy for noreasters to get it together on the other coast. Not to mention Atlantic hurricanes... the "A" storm was weeks ago. It should have been in June. This is apparently the new normal at this stage of the planet's rebooting. Not a good thing.

NYC seems to be in a new ball game, with snowmageddons being maybe 10-year events instead of 100-year ones.

NJ is in deep shit. They'd better start building some huge seawalls. Bye bye beach.

In other words, we see evidence of climate change more in the winter than the summer. None of this is unexpected, unless you're another decerebrate propaganda-whipped dumb American.

In San Diego, we're still waiting for El Nino. We had a good (for San Diego, that is) rain storm about two weeks ago but since then it's been light sprinkles. We're currently over an inch above normal rainfall for this period which is good news but not enough to refill the reservoirs. Like L.A., we're dry with the El Nino storms hitting Northern California with the rain and snow. Snow packs in the Sierras are above average and hopefully they'll continue to have more snow since most of Southern California's water comes from Norther California.

most of mid altitude W/CO has been twenty degrees colder than usual for two solid months.
ice freeze sunless; snow on the valley floor for 7weeks.
unheard of, they all say.

We're in a deep freeze now. It's 10 but wind chill factor is -4. And we've had two snow days in a row.

We got quite the snow dump around these parts this year. Been pretty cold for this area. Typically it's some what mild. We have a heat pump but our bill is going to be high.

MN is warming now. Easy winter for snow, had a number of weeks of brutal cold. I am ready for spring.
