New high score has been achieved!

Except for that one score had a pretty good day today.

If I keep this up I might be going into the semis.

Not bad. I see you only had three splits which is great because most people would have had more than that for four games. I also see you had a Double (strike) which must have felt good. As I said, keep bowling and you'll not only get better but you'll enjoy the game more.

Cherry Lanes. Isn’t that where the Beatles used to bowl?

Correction: It was Penny Lanes!

I took a look at Cherry Lanes website and I like the way it looks. It's much better looking than the lanes I bowl at by far.

I had a dream that you rolled a perfect game.

Was I just dreaming or did that really happen?

Yup, really happened. I also had a 299. My high series is 761.

I'm glad you like the place. I try to cycle between there and the other area lanes. Yeah Cherry Lanes is not that old, having been opened in 2008. It's a nice, clean, modern facility that's popular with families and children. I've never had equipment (pinsetters, etc) get stuck or jammed when I've bowled there. Some of the other lanes where I live are a bit older and I've had deck jams happen while I was there, or had something not catch and had the pinsetters where they wouldn't move, or some other issue. There's plenty of covered parking. Plus if you're the gambling type there's a full casino and other entertainment on the lower level.

I do like the other area lanes. I like Fischer because it's where the University had bowling nights at. They've updated it a bit, getting rid of the manual scoring tables but kept a lot of the old equipment in place. Both it and Creslanes have some of that old bowling center charm that you don't always find at new places like Cherry Lanes. I think Creslanes is set up to be a bit more challenging than Cherry Lanes, that they're geared more for the serious and league bowlers and Cherry Lanes is more for families and the not so serious bowlers. There's also another small alley called Dubuque Lanes. I haven't been there yet, it's set up more for private parties and league bowling than general open bowling. I've heard the ball returns there can be kind of rough on bowling balls sometimes.

When I was an undergrad, I would hang out with some friends at UCLA and I was somewhat surprised to find a couple of bowling lanes down near the food court.

The lanes didn't look all that nice, so I wasn't much interested in rolling a few frames. At that time, I was also very much lost in trying to understand some of the finer points of conservative forces, which made the prospect of rolling a few frames even less inviting.
