NFL bans kneeling.

Next, no speaking.

I don't get it. Tim Tebow spent half his fucking career kneeling.

The fans attending the games should take a knee during the playing of the National Anthem to show support for the players.

The players should all take a knee during the national anthem to show support for each other. But they won't. So next, since they are all just going to roll over and die, Roger Goodell will be instructing them all on which hand to wipe their fat asses with.

The rich players arent going to do anything that will threaten their money. If anybody is going to take a knee, and personally I dont believe any of them will, we will know what's important to those who resist and those who won't.

They're saying on the news up here that the players are more upset now, and may lead to MORE actions by players. There's already breaks in the ranks of the owners apparently.

Then there is the players' union. I don't know enough about NFL union workings so I could be very wrong. But I can't see how owners can impose this kind of top-down action on players.

The NFL said players could remain in the locker room during the anthem
Thst is what they all should do. Ram this ignorant edict up management's ass by having all players remain in the locker room.

The NFL has the weakest union and worst contract of all professional sports. Mainly for 2 reasons. First the nature of the mindset of the men who play football on that level and the fact most careers last under 4 years.

So going on strike and losing 25pct of your career earnings is something players dont want to do and management takes advantage of.

I didn't say anything about going on strike, man. That's your anti-union stereotypes at work.

Even if the players decided to remain in the locker room the NFL is discriminating against them the same way those who want prayer in schools by allowing those who don't want to pray or participate to remain outside the classroom during the praying. By saying either you'll be on the field standing or in the locker room the NFL is singling the player(s) out for their belief(s) and thereby opening the player to public humiliation. If the players want to stand or take a knee during the National Anthem then that should be their decision and the player will be responsible for any criticism or praise that results.

IMO, the players that want to take a knee should do so on the field. The new NFL policy is only bringing more attention to the players' actions and no doubt the TV coverage will be focusing on the players during the National Anthem. Had they simply not done anything then the coverage and publicity of the players kneeling would become old news and the TV networks wouldn't cover it. Of course, the reason for the NFL policy is to please Trump and to protect their federal tax exemption status.

That isnt an anti union deal. The only way in some cases this being one of those is to strike

The last contract was not only terrible it was for 10 years. I wonder if any of the union guys here have ever heard of a 10 year contract.

A strike is a last resort. Negotiation comes first.

Man, the only thing you care about is bashing unions. I don't think you're a rational person to have a conversation about unions, any union.

The ONLY thing that could better his life is a union and because of propaganda he will never be in favor of one. Too late anyway, these filthy deplorable assholes have done so much damage to our society, they have eliminated so many unions, well it is just too late.

Again, i wanna live long enough to see the damage.

No because it will show solidarity and make the owners look like assholes.

You guys are really missing it on this subject. If no player is on the field during the anthom it would be the loudest fu to the owners the players could shout.

No, as usual you're not thinking this issue through.

The NFL and Donald Trump have no business forcing shows of patriotism.

Now that President of the Confederacy has opened his big trap that players should not be in this country, you should put that in your sig.

:problem:

My post was not about bashing unions. You who think so are being myopic. I stated facts why the players union is the weakest among sports and how the ownets take advantage of the situation.

How you built a bridge between that and union bashing is an amazing feat.

I am in the players corner on this issue. Taking a knee is not disrespectful. In sports when the coach tells you to take a knee it is because he is about tjo teach you something that will improve your game.

Switching from sitting to taking a knee was brilliant. Those owners and fans who dont get it evidently played very little sports in thier lives.

I think that is legit and an example of thr owners putting one over on the players. If I am not mistaken the union president who negotiated the 10 year contract was fired a few years into it.

The owners knew mathematically the league would turn over close to 3 times in those 10 years. The NFL owners are a greedy lot and not good people in general

Every one of them taking a knee will show solidarity and make the owners look like assholes. Why do you want them to stay in the locker room?

And leave the players union out of this.
