This is the "chilling effect" of the bill. Nothing relating to sexual orientation can be discussed in those grades. If you are a kid who has two mommies, I guess you just can't say anything about it in class. 
Discussions of sexual orientation includes strait as well as gay. As for the rest nothing more than LW talking points. I really don't recall teachers spouses coming up at school. As for the 2 mommy deal many children have two mommies and 2 daddies due to divorce. So that isnt an issue either. Plus I doubt there is anything in the law that prevents a child from mentioning or saying my mommies or my daddies. Discussions of sexual orientation are forbidden in grades K-3. Now look. It's fine. Nobody's saying people should show tutorials on gay sex to 3rd graders,
It also says any discussion of sexual orientation or gender identity should be "age appropriate" if done in grades 4-12. The thing is, though, the devil is in the details there, and these politicians I wouldn't trust to be the ones to make that judgement. Some appear to feel no teacher should discuss any aspects of gender reassignment with any student under 18.

It's vague, it's pointless, and it's unconstitutional. As with all these bills, I ask one question: WHY? what was this written to deal with? What were K-3 teachers doing that merited the writing of this bill?
