Comey associate: Rosenstein and FBI director will quit if Trump goes through with DOJ investigation demand

Writing on Twitter, a confidante of former FBI Director James Comey predicted high level non-compliance and resignations at the FBI and the Justice Department if President Donald Trump makes good on a Twitter threat to demand an investigation of both agencies on Monday.

Trump made a stunning announcement on Sunday, issuing a proclamation on Twitter — of all places — complaining about an FBI informant who was tracking presidential campaign advisers Carter Page and George Papadopoulos in 2016.

No it's not bye. It's RawStory and Benjamin Wittes, blend those two together and you're going to get napalm. :|

Benjamin Wittes wrote an article yesterday about outing a source. Something he has strong feelings about. Then Trump added to his Tweets which already had Wittes worked up and he blew his stack on Twitter.

The Justice Department has asked its inspector general to review the situation.

Rod Rosenstein has already said, “If anyone did infiltrate or surveil participants in a presidential campaign for inappropriate purposes, we need to know about it and take appropriate action.”

Rosenstein and FBI director aren't quitting over this.

However Trump might fire them for doing nothing because asking the inspector general to review the situation and making mouth words like Rosenstein did is about the same as doing nothing.

Here's Wittes Lawfare article from yesterday: https://www.lawfareblog.com/day-we-cant ... -informant

It's fun to read. Quinta Jurecic helped Wittes write it, which is a good thing because she seems to have somewhat of a calming effect on him.

There's more fun on the way, Andrew McCarthy wrote an article in National Review yesterday which will more than likely provoke Wittes to respond. I'm watching for it. The ongoing feud between McCarthy and Wittes is fun to watch and it had kind of died down. I'm looking forward to it flaming up again. :D

After tens of thousands of pre-orders, 3D audio headphones startup Ossic disappears

After taking tens of thousands of crowd-funding pre-orders for a high-end pair of “3D sound” headphones, audio startup Ossic announced this weekend that it is shutting down the company and backers will not be receiving refunds.

The company raised $3.2 million across Kickstarter and Indiegogo for their Ossic X headphones which they pitched as a pair of high-end head-tracking headphones that would be perfect for listening to 3D audio, especially in a VR environment. While the company also raised a “substantial seed investment,” in a letter on the Ossic website, the company blamed the slow adoption of virtual reality alongside their crowdfunding campaign stretch goals which bogged down their R&D team.

Son of Boston police captain pleads guilty to ISIS bomb plot

A month before his trial, the son of a police captain in Boston pleaded guilty Monday to a terrorist plot supporting ISIS.

According to Boston.com, 25-year-old Alexander Ciccolo obtained guns and began to make homemade bombs in 2015. He had been plotting to attack an unidentified college campus, and was seen buying a pressure cooker shortly before his arrest.

Judge booted from death row case after racial comments

On the heels of a number of racially charged comments about African-American defendants, Harris County Judge Michael McSpadden has been removed from the appeal of a black death row prisoner.

Defense lawyers in March asked the jurist to recuse himself from the case of George Curry, who was sentenced to die in 2009 after he was convicted of killing a teen during a restaurant robbery.

Oregon High School Principal and Resource Officer Fired For Anti-LGBTQ Discrimination, Including Telling Gay Students They Were Going to Hell - Willamette Week

Quote:
North Bend High School principal Bill Lucero and school resource officer Jason Griggs are being removed from their jobs in the district's settlement with the American Civil Liberties Union of Oregon. The firings come after complaints from former and current students, including Liv Funk and Hailey Smith, about suffering anti-LGBTQ harassment and discrimination from classmates and administration.

In the past month, Funk and Smith, North Bend High School seniors, have shared disturbing accounts of school harassment in Oregon's coastal Coos County.

The student-run legal clinic at the Willamette University College of Law first took on the girls' case. Professor Warren Binford says she then went to the ACLU for help after discovering it to be "one of the worst cases of discrimination at a school that she had ever seen in Oregon."

In public letters published on ACLU of Oregon's website, Funk and Smith say they were subject to repeated verbal, and at times physical, abuse by fellow students. When they brought these complaints to school administrators, they say they were either ignored or harassed further.

"The discrimination wasn't an isolated incident and it didn't just come from students," Smith writes. "When I told the principal that my civics teacher called me out in front of the whole class and said same-sex marriage was 'pretty much the same thing' as marrying a dog, the principal told me 'everybody has the right to their own opinion.' The next day, the teacher apologized, but as I walked away, he said 'don't go marrying your dog.'"

Conservatives evidently think we are living in the Republic of Gilead and not the United States of America. #seeyouincourt

ABC Cancels ‘The Chew’ After Seven Seasons

The next season of The Chew will be its last. ABC confirmed today that it’s canceling the celebrity chef-hosted daytime talk show, Deadline reports.

The Emmy Award-winning program is presently hosted by chefs Michael Symon, Carla Hall, fashion consultant Clinton Kelly, and, until recently, chef Mario Batali. Batali was suspended and ultimately fired from the show in December amid widespread reports of the chef’s alleged sexual misconduct that spanned two decades. (In a segment that acknowledged Batali’s suspension, Symon, Hall, and Kelly released a group statement saying “Our commitment to our viewers remains the same — to deliver the entertaining show that you’ve come to expect.”) Batali is currently the subject of a criminal investigation led by the New York Police Department into the misconduct allegations lodged by several employees who worked at the Spotted Pig.

Kraemer brothers among six charged over allegedly fake Louis XIV furniture

Laurent and Olivier Kraemer, of Paris’s venerable Kraemer Gallery, are among a group of six dealers, experts and cabinet makers that have been charged with organised fraud and money laundering in a French court. The indictments—announced in January but only recently reported—mark the culmination of a multi-year investigation into allegedly fake Louis XIV furniture.

Others charged include: Jacques Poisson a retired cabinetmaker, and his wife Colette; Michel Rocaboy, a cabinetmaker who was the Poissons' sub-contractor, and Roland de l’Espée, a dealer and the former president of the French Friends of Versailles Society. All proclaim their innocence.

A white Pennsylvania man is going to prison and losing his home after he was convicted of harassing his black neighbors over a period of years, reports The Morning Call.

According to the report, 45-year-old Robert Kujawa of Easton, was found guilty by a jury of ethnic intimidation, harassment, stalking and is facing two to four years in state prison.

In their case against Kujawa, prosecutors claimed that the man hung Confederate flags in the windows of his home that faced his black neighbor’s home, and used a racial slur against the woman and her son when they were in the backyard — which Kujawa has denied.

According to the family, the man also used a pellet gun to shoot out their outdoor lights and damage their furniture, forcing them purchase a security system, lighting and a fence and forbid their sons from playing in their yard.

Qatar bans goods from UAE, Saudi as embargo anniversary approaches

DUBAI (Reuters) - Qatar said it was banning products originating from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Bahrain, almost a year after those states imposed an embargo on Doha, accusing it of supporting terrorism.

“Products originating from the blockading states, which as a result of the blockade cannot pass the Gulf Cooperation Council Customs Territory, have to undergo proper import inspections and customs procedures,” a government statement said late on Saturday.

Congressman on leaving Congress: ‘All I do is answer questions about Donald Trump'

Congressman Ryan Costello, a Republican from Pennsylvania, placed some of the blame for his leaving Congress on always being asked about President Trump.

According to CNN, Costello announced he would not run for reelection in March, citing the divided political environment and the President’s actions, saying quote, "No matter what I say or do, I feel all I do is answer questions about Donald Trump rather than health insurance or tax policy."

Garrett reverses, will not seek reelection amid battle with alcoholism

Rep. Thomas Garrett (R-Va.) announced Monday, four days after an unusual press conference in which he said he is "absolutely, positively running for reelection," that he will be stepping down in January as he seeks to focus on recovering from alcoholism.

“Any person — Republican, Democrat or independent — who has known me for any period of time and has any integrity knows two things: I am a good man, and I’m an alcoholic,” Garrett said, fighting back tears in a video statement first reported by The Washington Post. “This is the hardest statement that I have ever publicly made by far. It’s also the truth.”

‘Roseanne’ Canceled at ABC - Variety

Quote:
ABC has pulled the plug on the revival “Roseanne.”

The move comes after series star Roseanne Barr made a comment on Twitter Tuesday morning referring to former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett as the “offspring of the ‘Muslim Brotherhood & Planet of the Apes.'”

“Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show,” ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said in a statement.

More to come…

dumb bigot

This reboot was going to make her one of the wealthiest TV stars EVER and it was gonna make several others on there rich as well. And Roseanne has been BEGGING for a sitcom for years, then she gets Seinfeld 2 and does this, it explains how embolden SHE and those like her think rump stealing the election has given them.

She THINKS that with rump in charge she can BE racist and keep her show, I thought she might myself. WANDA quite earlier today BEFORE it was cancelled. LOVE WANDA

Trump’s Loudest Anti-Muslim Twitter Troll Is A Shady Vegan Married To An (Ousted) WWE Exec

She was supposed to be a Russian bot. That seemed like the best explanation for @AmyMek. No normal person could be so prolific and prejudiced.

For five years, the mysterious Twitter account ― which has more than 200,000 followers, including Sean Hannity, Roseanne Barr and the personal account of Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and has earned endorsements from Donald Trump and Michael Flynn ― has tirelessly spewed far-right propaganda and, above all, Islamophobia. Around 25 tweets a day, sometimes more, the majority of them designed to stoke hatred of Muslims.

Facebook is killing the controversial 'Trending' news section it showed on its homepage

Facebook announced on Friday that it planned to remove Trending, a module on the right-hand side of Facebook's desktop site that shows news stories people are discussing and sharing.

"From research we found that over time people found the product to be less and less useful," Facebook's head of news products, Alex Hardiman, said in a blog post on Friday. "We will remove Trending from Facebook next week and we will also remove products and third-party partner integrations that rely on the Trends API."
