Shane Gillis Out From ‘Saturday Night Live’

“Saturday Night Live” is officially cutting ties with Shane Gillis.

“After talking with Shane Gillis, we have decided that he will not be joining ‘SNL,'” an “SNL” spokesperson on behalf of Lorne Michaels said in a statement. “We want SNL to have a variety of voices and points of view within the show, and we hired Shane on the strength of his talent as comedian and his impressive audition for SNL. We were not aware of his prior remarks that have surfaced over the past few days. The language he used is offensive, hurtful and unacceptable. We are sorry that we did not see these clips earlier, and that our vetting process was not up to our standard.”

Hello

Judge rules Amber Guyger's murder trial will remain in Dallas - Dallas New

No Simi Valley juries for you.
State District Judge Tammy Kemp ruled Monday afternoon that Amber Guyger's murder trial will remain in Dallas.

The jury was chosen Friday. But prosecutors and defense attorneys sparred in court Monday on whether to move the case to another county.

Kemp, who is presiding over the case, had told the attorneys she would rule by the end of the day on whether to move the trial. The trial is expected to begin Sept. 23.

Neither defense attorneys nor prosecutors could comment on the judge's ruling because there is a gag order in the case.

Jurors must ultimately decide whether it was a crime when Guyger, 31, shot Botham Jean in his own apartment. And if it was a crime, was it murder or a lesser crime like manslaughter or criminally negligent homicide? They also could find Guyger not guilty.
Still, they will probably decide it was not a crime or murder or manslaughter. All she has to do is sprinkle the magic pixie dust of "I feared for my life," and she'll walk.

Stop calling the cops on us.

Taiwan loses biggest Pacific ally as Solomons embraces China

Taiwan has lost its largest ally in the Pacific after the Solomon Islands confirmed Tuesday that it is switching diplomatic allegiance to China, and observers say other Pacific nations may soon follow.

The switch has geopolitical significance that will be felt as far away as Washington because the Solomon Islands are located directly between Australia and the U.S. and were the site of fierce battles during World War II.

Vaping Flavorpocalypse Comes to New York as State Health Authorities Order Emergency Ban

The New York state Department of Health’s Public Health and Health Planning Council approved an emergency ban of all vaping products with flavors other than tobacco or menthol—and have doubtless started a mad rush on mint, mango, creme, and countless other types of vape juice—amid skyrocketing teen use and hundreds of cases of vaping-related lung illnesses across the country.

Former Food and Drug Administration chief Scott Gottlieb, a supporter of a federal ban, has described the underage use and vaping-associated pulmonary illness (VAPI) issues as “conflated” and requiring “separate actions and separate public health concerns.” Currently, the seven deaths and 380 confirmed and probable cases that have been confirmed by the Centers for Disease Control are believed to possibly be linked to black market adulteration of THC products with potentially dangerous chemicals like Vitamin E acetate. However, CDC and state health officials told Stat News that researchers have yet to identify a definitive cause, cautioning that cases seen since April may be instances of long-term vaping damage or be tied to multiple causes.

Another MAGA white supremacist jackass

A 30-year-old Trump supporter from Rhode Island pleaded guilty to stalking and transmitting a threat this week after he sent dozens of emails to a Harvard professor that included threats to kill and eat them.

CBS Boston reports that Matthew Haviland earlier this year sent 28 emails to an unnamed Harvard professor who had been outspoken in favor of abortion rights and critical of Trump.

N.Y. Judge Resigns After Posting Image of Noose With ‘Make America Great Again’ Caption

A New York municipal judge has resigned and been permanently barred from judicial office after posting an image to Facebook of a noose with a “Make America Great Again” caption.

Kyle Canning, 29, a town court justice in Altona, New York, posted the image in February of 2018 that read in all capital letters, “If we want to make America great again we will have to make evil people fear punishment again.”

Massive Central Park makeover announced; will affect Trump-owned ice rink

HARLEM, Manhattan -- The north end of Central Park is about to undergo one of the most significant changes that the park has seen in generations.

The area near the Harlem Meer will be transformed significantly at a cost of $150 million over at least three years' time. Some local residents questioned if it was worth the dollars and the years and they also asked what, if anything, President Donald Trump has to do with it all.

Giants cancel head coach Pat Shurmur’s weekly radio appearance with Mike Francesa

The New York Giants are 0-2 and, other than maybe Saquon Barkley and the potential of Daniel Jones, there isn’t much hope for Big Blue this season. The critics are out and about, for good reason, and that might mean fewer media appearances from those on the team.

According to Newsday’s Neil Best, head coach Pat Shurmur is no longer going to appear on Mike Francesa’s show on WFAN. Shurmur talked with Francesa weekly on the Giants’ flagship radio station but that seems to be no more.

Colt is ending production of AR-15s

Colt Firearms will be ending its production and sales of its AR-15 rifles due to lack of public demand amid excess market capacity.

Colt released a statement on Thursday to clarify the decision, which was made because the company simply isn’t selling enough of the rifles in the civilian marketplace to continue devoting the resources into it — a pattern that may be attributed to Colt rifles’ $1,000+ price tag and a market supplied with lower priced competitors.

TV and Radio Marti are two of the most ridiculous Cold War relics the government still operates. Only geezer gangsters from CANF still fight to keep them operating.

Nobody in Cuba ever sees or hears them - the gov't there has them jammed. I mean, for chrissakes, if you really want to get news to Cuba they can't see due to censorship, there is this interwebz thing ...

TV and Radio Marti are massive pointless wastes of money, they should be shut down.

Large vape shop manufacturing company leaving New York

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — “It’s unbelievable,” says Ken Gregory on New York’s liquid e-cigarette ban. Gregory is the Vice President of Operations for Bad Drip Labs, that factory directly supplying 16 vape stores in the region.

He says they’re not waiting for the 90-day temporary state ban to end, if it ever does. “The company will survive, but we will not have the opportunity to continue to provide these jobs in New York,” he says.
