There is a Monument in Savanah Georiga dedicated to the 500 Members of the "Gens de Couleur Libre" (Free Men of Color) who fought in the American Revolution from the Haiti.

Haiti is also the first country to have a successful Slave Revolt.

To insult a country, a people who fought for our country against the British Crown is beyond disgraceful and disrespectful.

And just for shits and giggles there is the fact that the U.S. has a very strong history of supporting RW Dictatorship's in South America and the Caribbean.

Dictators in El Salvador, Haiti, and Nicaragua come to mind.

Oh, the U.S. Panama just resigned, he cannot serve 45 or the racist views of 45.

Gee, the Nazi's felt the Aryan nation was best represented by Norway and Germany.

Trump's a vile White Supremacist. And apparently the GOP doesn't really have a problem with it.

Then Ann Coulter leads off with saying because Bobby Kennedy promised us something about what an immigration law in 1965 would not do,

As always, don't care what Ann Coulter thinks about anything, but "that" immigration law was the Immigration Act of 1965, sponsor Bobby's brother Teddy, that law put an end to (after more than a century) the requirement from the Naturalization Act of 1790 that immigrants in the U.S. who wanted to naturalize needed to be "free white persons". (There were carve-outs in laws from the 40s and 50s, but that Act got rid of the whole shebang.)

Also, BTW, the Immigration Act of 1965 put an end to explicit racial quotas in terms of setting immigration quota restrictions.

If you were a racist, I can see why that might upset you.

P.S. ever since that Act of 1965, the "third wave" of immigration to the U.S. has mostly been made up of Asians and Latinos.

Back to Haiti, Trump came to Miami during the campaign and told the Haitian Americans living here "he would be their champion". That was, BTW, before he recently ended TPS for Haitians, said they were bringing AIDs into the country, and called their country a "shithole". Yes, I know, pointing out Trump lies to everybody shamelessly and effortlessly is like noting the wetness of water, but still.

P.S. quite a few folks have noticed the one local Congress Kritter who hasn't yet criticized Trump is Marco the Rubio. (That was deliberate - "Rubio" in Spanish means "blonde" or "fair".)

Don't forget, the Haitian government backed Trump on the U.N. vote concerning the U.S. Embassy moving to Jerusalem

Just saw this story being reported:

Haitians say their exiled dictator "Baby Doc" Duvalier may have used Trump Tower to launder money stolen from the Haitian people.

Why does Trump Tower seem to be an epicenter of illegal activities?

Norwegians Say "No Thanks" To Trump Immigration Offer.
Quote:
The Nordic country, one of the richest in the world by GDP per capita, was last year named the happiest nation on the planet and is known for a cradle-to-grave welfare state funded in part by large reserves of oil and natural gas.

"On behalf of Norway: Thanks, but no thanks," tweeted Torbjoern Saetre, a politician representing Norway's Conservative Party in a municipality near Oslo.

Others condemned the U.S. president's comments as inappropriate or racist.

"We are not coming. Cheers from Norway," one woman wrote.

While hundreds of thousands of Norwegians emigrated to the U.S. in the 19th century, just 502 out of a population of 5.3 million people moved there in 2016, down 59 from the previous year, according to Statistics Norway.

Norwegians know a good thing (and a bad thing) when they see it.

Sens. Cotton and Perdue don't recall Trump making the comments. Cotton's and Perdue's lack of recall is a way of taking political cover so as not to feel Trump's wrath or to offend his base.

Quote:
Sens. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) and Dexact comments and called out Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) for confirming the comments.

"In regards to Senator Durbin’s accusation, we do not recall the President saying these comments specifically but what he did call out was the imbalance in our current immigration system, which does not protect American workers and our national interest," the senators wrote.

Sen. Tim Scott, from glen's state of South Carolina, spoke with Sen. Lindsey Graham who confirmed Trump's "shithole" comment.

Quote:
Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) said Friday that his fellow South Carolina Sen. Lindsay Graham (R), who attended a bipartisan meeting with President Trump and lawmakers Thursday, confirmed a Washington Post account of Trump's remarks calling Haiti, El Salvador and some African nations "shithole countries."

Scott, the Senate's lone black Republican, told The Post and Courier on Friday that Graham confirmed the newspaper's account of the conversation, which Scott said he found "incredibly disappointing."
The Hill

It's time for Graham to step forward and either confirm what Trump said of for him to take something for the "vapors."

Incidentally, this is also the 8th anniversary of the disastrous Haitian earthquake.

The 2.9 earthquake devastated the island on January 12th, 2010.

Well, some folks did like the recent speech.

White Supremacists Praise Trump's Inflammatory Immigration Remarks
https://www.adl.org/blog/white-supremac ... on-remarks

White supremacists expressed delight online after President Trump’s reported remarks about “shithole” majority black countries.

The comments elicited gratified responses from white supremacist “leaders” like Richard Spencer, David Duke and Andrew Anglin, as well as from rank and file racists.

Andrew Anglin set the tone for readers of the Daily Stormer when he wrote:
“This is encouraging and refreshing, as it indicates Trump is more or less on the same page as us with regards to race and immigration….The real issue is all of these shitty brown people who come to the country exclusively to parasite off of us.”

The Daily Stormer’s Robert Warren Ray (aka Azzmador) didn’t mince words:
“Haiti has been a shithole for far longer than there has been a Democratic party, you moron. It's full of gorilla niggers.”

Hunter Wallace, an Alabama-based white supremacist and member of League of the South, writing on Occidental Dissent, a prominent racist blog:
“We’re willing to flat out say that we DON’T want more illegal aliens from Third World shitholes like Haiti, Nicaragua and El Salvador.
We DON’T want more of this #MeToo pussyfooting around like we saw from conservatives with Roy Moore. We DON’T want neocon regime change in Iran, huge tax cuts for multinational corporations, all this sucking up to Israel or pandering to the donor class. We’re sick of these people who are nothing more than puppets of billionaires.”

[snip]

The Right Stuff’s Mike Enoch took the opportunity to inject anti-Semitism into the issue, claiming that Jews who control the media are to blame for showcasing Trump’s racist remarks. (Multiple sets of parenthesis are white supremacist code for “Jewish control.”)

[snip][end]

Yay, he says, with obvious irony.

BTW, apologies for quoting "Ass-Mador" verbatim, but those were his exact words.

Piece

Editorial: Will the GOP ever stand up to Trump's naked bigotry?

Quote:
The President of the United States is a racist.

Not racially insensitive, you understand. Not a populist demagogue cozying up to his white, working-class base.

We’re talking straight-up, go-back-to-where-you-came-from bigotry, the kind that emboldened Southern segregationists to barricade college classrooms and train firehoses on civil rights demonstrators more than half a century ago.

Except that this is 2018, and the guy making like your drunk uncle in high dudgeon is the leader of the free world.

No one who has paid even casual attention to Donald Trump could claim real surprise when he reportedly told a bipartisan congressional delegation that he was tired of immigrants from “shithole countries” such as Haiti, El Salvador and some African nations and yearned for more from countries like Norway. ........

I saw this and read it. first thing I did after reading it was bring up a google page and began typing "what did lindsey graham say" auto complete finished it for me once I had typed "lin," the first three letters of his first name.

That speaks volumes, to have that pop up on top like that means a whole lot of people had to have typed in that same search string during the last two or three hours.

The search string popped up, but the search itself was an empty hole.

An empty hole like that could be put to a number of uses. :)

After The Washington Post on Thursday afternoon first reported Trump’s remarks at a White House meeting with lawmakers, “The Five” co-host Jesse Watters shrugged off the slur as the way ordinary Americans talk about “Haiti people.”

“If it’s true, this is how the forgotten men and women in America talk at the bar,” Watters said. “This is how Trump relates to people. If you’re at a bar, and you’re from Wisconsin, and you’re thinking, ‘They’re bringing in a bunch of Haiti people, or El Salvadorians, or people from Niger.’ This is how some people talk.”

https://www.yahoo.com/news/fox-news-def ... 46631.html

Yes, that's true Mr. Watters. Being from Mn. and having most of my relatives living in Wisconsin........i've been in those bars many a time and have heard such comments more than once. It's always the same liquored (gotta have your courage) up asshole that goes on a two cent racist rant about all that is wrong with america with his fellow idiots nodding in agreement. Trump would fit right in. Get it?

In 1992 I had a Haitian trainee who grew up in NY City and had spent 15+ years in the US Army along with his wife. They both took the 50k HW Bush was offering soldiers to leave early. He had a degree from a NY City college and spoke fluent French with a French accent, as two dock workers in Montreal learned the hard way.

He was perhaps the most interesting person I ever taught trucking to. A way better person on his worse day than Trump is on his best. Plus, he did something Trump never did which is serve our country.

What Trump and his ilk are missing is how fortunate those from third world countries feel when they get lucky enough to be a part of the USA. [AKA the greatest country in the history of man] While my trainee was a man of both letters and accomplishments those further down the trough love being here even more.

As long as they get here legally have been vetted live clean, honest and sober lives we should welcome well.

Trump, once again shows how unfit for office he truly is. The things he says are the things you hear from the mouths of people in low class bars [which I ve been known to frequent] and truck stop coffee counters. People who could not pass even a third grade level test on the US Gov't.

I happen to know that Sen Graham is gay, having learned so close to 20 years ago from a very reliable source. We should feel sad for him having to have lived his life in the closet. We should feel sad for him and all the other gays who were never permitted by society to live a normal life. One where he could get married and be in a relationship with the person he is going to grow old with. One where they couldn't experience all the things in life we straits take for granted.

Making fun of Sen Graham's sexuality by mimicking Stephanie Miller is little different than Trump's open racism and prejudice.

like Reverend Barber says you can see it in the legislation on immigration and tax wise that trump is racist. every bit obscene.
