In a meeting of N.F.L. Team Owners in October of 2017, the owners all but agreed to black ball former San Francisco 49'ers Quarterback Colin Kaepernick out of fear from an attack by 45.

https://www.rawstory.com/2018/04/secret ... rnick-job/.

Kaepernick earned the ire of owners after he refused to stand for the National Anthem in order to protest the murder African-Americans by Police in the U.S.

Kaepernick has long said that N.F.L. Owners were deliberately preventing him from playing after he left the 49'ers.

Owners denied this, but a recording of the October Meeting has proven Kap was telling the truth. A recording made at the meeting has been released and in that recording N.F.L. Commissioner Roger Goddell says, "Let's make sure we keep confidential".

Other N.F.L. Players have started to "Take A Knee" in protest of the deaths of African-Americans at the hand of Police Officers and they have continued to play. Kap was shunned.

History once again has proven that it was a concerted effort on the of a mostly White Ownership that kept a talented Black Man from a game that he loves to play.

Kaepernick has sued the N.F.L. to get his job back.

The Owners are cowards, afraid of that fucking Racist in the White House.

Well here's the rest of this story. The antipathy between Donald and NFL owners goes back a long way. In 1986 Trump was the owner of a USFL franchise, I believe it was the NY Generals. Trump felt that the only way to really compete with the NFL and get TV viewers to abandon the NFL was to compete during the same time of year...thus the 1986 USFL season was scheduled for that fall. From Snopes:
Quote:
At the beginning of the third season [of the United States Football, the league actually decided that for the fourth season they would go to the fall. The networks were furious, the players knew it wasn’t going to work out, the losses really started to mount, the owners were getting incredibly upset. Trump had a solution, however. His solution was, "We’re gonna sue. We’re going to sue the NFL for being monopolists.”

The large part of the argument was, "We can’t get a network contract because they have all three networks locked up so they must be a monopolist.” The jury did, in fact, rule that the NFL was a monopolist that had harmed the USFL. They had asked for $1.2 billion in damages, and the jury said, "We’re going to give you $1.” And in antitrust cases that’s tripled so that’s $3. Add interest and that’s $3.76.

Yep...Donald and his cowtowing USFL partner owners won a blistering $3.76 award. But even so, of course Donald declared this to be a "moral victory". But the rest of the USFL ownership decided that they were never going to be successful at even having their league melded into the NFL. Over the objections of Donald, the 1986 season was cancelled and there was never another USFL game played.

This all came about however because of an earlier meeting in 1984 meeting between Trump, Leslie Schupak a partner with and outfit called KCSA Worldwide, the USFL’s marketing and public relations firm, and NFL Commissioner, Pete Rozelle. Again from Snopes:
Quote:
A meeting between Trump and Rozelle in March 1984, involved Trump’s desire to possess an NFL franchise. Although he owned the NY Generals and spoke publicly of his love for the USFL, Trump (according to many people who knew him) anxiously wanted to ditch the upstart league for the money and fame of the bigger league. Hence, said Schupak, Trump invited Rozelle (a man Trump knew casually through scattered social encounters) to meet, and had Schupak — with whom he had bonded — tag along.

Schupak remembered it well. “They arrive, and even before Pete can stop talking on a casual basis, Donald starts his diatribe on how great he (Trump) would be for the NFL, and what it would mean to the NFL to have him as a franchise owner,” he said. “Donald is going on in his typical style, telling Pete Rozelle what he believes in, why he would be wonderful. It was typical Donald, in that Rozelle couldn’t get a word in.”

According to Schupak, Rozelle seemed to be under the impression Trump extended the invite to discuss relations between the two leagues. When he realized what Trump was after, he turned cold and blunt. “Mr. Trump,” Rozelle told him, according to Schupak, “as long as I or any of my heirs are involved in the NFL, you will never be a franchise owner in the league.”

The meeting ended shortly thereafter. Not surprisingly, Trump remembered the meeting very differently, in testimony he gave in 1984 during the USFL’s antitrust case against the NFL. Trump told jurors that Rozelle promised him an NFL franchise.

He did not get one. Donald Trump was never a franchise owner in the NFL.

Can you imagine how wonderful a sight it would have been to see somebody talk to Donald the way Rozelle did in this meeting? Donald, of course, never got over this. And he knows that even though Rozelle is gone, he will never get into the NFL owner's club. But now that he's President the NFL owner's are wary of rubbing him the wrong way because of the bug up his enormous white zit-covered ass over the rejection almost 35 years ago. So they are probably going to not poke a sharp stick in his eye over Colin Kaepernick. Nobody is sure that Donald could actually do much to the NFL, but these are the epitome of conservative business people and they would prefer not to risk it.

But the story of the meeting with Rozelle as told by Schupak, tells us that the Donald we see now, is the same Donald we were seeing in 1984. The same malignant narcissist who doesn't know when to shut his festering fucking piehole, and the same lying-ass pig that he has been since he was a teenager.

But we don't want to be hasty. As Joe keeps telling us, we need to wait and see if he really is unfit for the office.

While we all know there was collusion there is nothing in the raw story link that shows or even suggests collusion. The title of this thread is not correct.

The owners wanted the kneeling to end and were making the point that Trump was using the kneeling as tweet fodder.

The other comments on this thread aboit Trump owning the New Jersey Generals are very correct. Trump destroyed that league deliberately as an attempt to force a merger.

Which is why i have never been a Trump fan.

Funny, I recall you arguing that he should be admired as being a genius of a businessman.

Based on what we knew then vs what we know now. As for not liking him then or now I can separate my personal hatred for a person personally when looking at that same person in a different venue. For example Jimmy Carter Great man below average President.

As a businessman Trump was successful, now had he started out from scratch as opposed to starting out on second base it is questionable whether or not he would have been a success. Same can be said about people like W and Al Gore.

First, when you borrow a million dollars from your rich dad to go into the same business as him, that's not "second base".

And we knew then that he was a crooked real estate developer, that he had single-handedly destroyed the USFL, and he was running the "Trump University" scam. No, glen, we knew THEN that he was no genius businessman, but instead a fucking corrupt crook.

As a businessman Trump was successful...

It's difficult to excuse you for the fucked up shit you put out here based on ignorance anymore. Trump is not a successful businessman...unless you're as despicable as I think you are and you believe that the legal system of this country is to be used as a weapon against those decent people you do business with, used as a weapon against innocent women who accidentally get too physically close, and used as a weapon against anybody who openly disagrees with you. Because that is how Donald Trump has amassed whatever wealth he has...not by being a successful businessman. You're not ignorant glen. You simply lie like a dog, glen.

WTF is wrong with you?

We knew back then that Trump refused to pay contractors, that he used the legal system to harass people, that his casinos were dumps - glen himself told us that.

But he still lionized Trump. He has no excuse. And he knows it's true that he did so.

Once again glen is proving what a liar he is.

He is defending 45, something glen has time and again says that he says never does.

Two things. We have no idea how successful Trump has or hasn’t been. Nobody has seen his financials. And gaining monies by not paying people is fraud. As for your two examples, congratulations! You have just committed class warfare.

Based on what we read by glen, we can clearly see glen is defending 45, something glen claims he does not do.

IF 45 was such a great business man, how come his casinos went bankrupt?

The only business he ever seemed "successful" at was reality TV star, and it could be argued the gig is ongoing.

Are you aware of the number of casinos that went BR during that time? Especially in AC? The number was over half, including 4 last year. Now having been at Trump's Casino with a wealthy friend who was considered a Whale and was compted the best of everything. I can tell you first hand that Trump's Casino was a total shithole in every aspect. Be it gaming floor, room amenities, food there is not one thing about that place a person could have pointed to as being of decent let alone high quality.

However I am going to guess that even though it was a shithole and did go BR that Trump made money on the deal.

Yep, and he brags about how he makes money through bankruptcy. Everyone loses but him.

That's why he had to borrow from Russia. No American bank would loan to him with his track record.
