There are only two black lawmakers in the Arizona Legislature, and the Leg put a gag order on both of them, and they were told to sit down and shut up, they had no right to criticize fellow lawmaker's use of the n-word:

When the House met Wednesday, no bills were on the agenda. Members were only expected to make floor speeches.

Rep. Reginald Bolding, D-Phoenix, used his to denounce the column, saying Syms should not have quoted Lamar's use of the N-word.

"Let me by crystal clear," he said on the floor. "It is not acceptable to use racial slurs, even if that slur is used as a quote."

He was interrupted by Rep Mark Finchem, R-Tucson, who said it was improper for Bolding to accuse a member of "using a racial slur in an op-ed." Bolding was ruled in violation of House rules.

Bolding asked for a voice vote on whether he should be silenced.

During that vote, Rep. Gerae Peten, D-Goodyear, made a speech, also criticizing Syms’ article. She was also found in violation of the House rules. Peten also asked for a vote in whether she should be silenced.

That was followed by speeches on the topic from members of both parties.

The proceedings also were delayed as clerks sorted out how to hold both votes. Ultimately, both lawmakers were told to be seated.

Both Bolding and Peten are black. They are the only black members of the Legislature.

The leg had to remind them of their place, and obviously that is to sit down and shut up, and let the white Republicans be as racist as they wanna be.
