Good luck, and god speed. We've been watching your campaign. Go make these venal Rs clutch their bibles, and guns, and other ridiculous idols.

Ortiz Jones wins Democratic nomination for U.S. Representative District 23

After all precincts reported, Ortiz Jones had a lead of more than 5,000 votes over Rick Trevino.

"Gina Ortiz Jones fought overseas to defend our country and expand opportunities for hardworking families, and now she's ready to continue serving as a new voice in Congress. The EMILY's List community was proud to stand with Gina Ortiz Jones early in the primary and will continue to stand with her as she takes on vulnerable House Republican Will Hurd this November in this competitive swing district," Stephanie Schriock, president of EMILY's List said.

The democratic race for Texas' District 23 included two candidates from San Antonio.

Ortiz Jones is a former U.S. Air Force intelligence officer and served in Iraq under President George W. Bush. She also served as director in the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative under President Barack Obama.

Not mentioned in this article, for some odd reason: Jones would be the first out lesbian Asian-American (Filipina) veteran in Congress and the first woman to represent this district.

Lol go put that in your intersectionality and smoke it.

Lol now watch all the stupid angry feckless neonazis, confederates, Republicans, and socalled moderates fall all over themselves getting to the polls by the droves in November. :)

Stop calling the cops on us.

That's good to hear. :)

There's another one, from the Texas’ 7th Congressional District. That Bernie Sanders supported Laura Moser lost by about 40%. She was the carpetbagger from DC who made a big stink about the Democratic Party supporting her opponent some time back. We discussed it in a thread somewhere when it happened.

"Pannill Fletcher led with nearly 70 percent of the vote in the early returns." The margin might tighten Slate reported early returns. They probably wanted to get the story out. They mention in the article that Moser wrote some stories for them in the past. ... tcher.html
