It's not just this silly crap trying to get his wife a job at Chick Fil-A or trying to get a used Trump hotel mattress (though ewwwwww - WTH is up with that?) Yes, he's a corrupt piece of crap, if even Laura Ingraham can see it, for chrissakes.

Also, yes, I think climate change is our most pressing global ecological issue, but it seems it's not the only way Pruitt seems determined to screw over the people of this country.

He is rolling back a whole series of environmental regulations that will, in short, increase misery, and wreck public health.

These are all the things Pruitt is proposing to roll back at the EPA ... and their toxic effects.

I'm pretty sure the dictionary will soon say for the entry for Fox in the Henhouse ... "See Scott Pruitt".

I told you cons hate water and air etc.

They want to destroy it for some reason. Civil unrest may be necessary to save our own lives

Trump Drowns Ocean Protections During National Ocean Month
The president revoked an Obama-era order aimed at protecting and restoring ocean and coastal health.
https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/tr ... b9e9a7e186

In proclaiming June National Ocean Month, President Donald Trump called on the nation to “reflect on the value and importance of oceans” and “celebrate this immense natural resource.”

But this week, in the midst of that celebration, he signed an executive order to revoke Obama-era protections for U.S. oceans, coastlines and Great Lakes waters. Trump’s directive focuses on energy extraction, fishing, trade and national security, further highlighting that he believes that the greatest value of federal lands and waters lies in the commodities that can be harvested from them.

“Ocean industries employ millions of Americans and support a strong national economy,” reads the order, which Trump signed Tuesday. “Domestic energy production from Federal waters strengthens the Nation’s security and reduces reliance on imported energy.”

Missing from the order are words like “conservation,” “stewardship” and “climate change,” as well as any mention of numerous other threats facing the world’s oceans, including plastic pollution, coral bleaching and acidification.

Make the planet shitty again.

Just a little history. Pruitt is the latest in a string of Republicans appointed to head the EPA who's agenda is to basically dismantle the EPA. And it started with Reagan appointee Anne Gorsuch. Does the name sound familiar? Gorsuch was the mother of newest SCOTUS justice Neil Gorsuch. Anne Gorsuch a supporter of the New Federalism movement, decided that EPA regulations interfered with American business and she just decided to start taking down the EPA. The outcome...

Quote:
In 1982, Congress charged that the EPA had mishandled the $1.6 billion toxic waste Superfund and demanded records from Gorsuch. Gorsuch refused and became the first agency director in U.S. history to be cited for contempt of Congress. The EPA turned the documents over to Congress several months later, after the White House abandoned its court claim that the documents could not be subpoenaed by Congress because they were covered by executive privilege. At that point, Gorsuch resigned her post, citing pressures caused by the media and the congressional investigation.

And she was gone. Gorsuch never got over it and word has it that her son blames her early death from cancer at age 62, in large part, on Congressional Democrats who were the force behind her eventual resignation as EPA director.

Trump advisors knew all about this and were behind the nomination of her son to the Supreme Court. Neil Gorsuch has it in for the legislative branch in general, and for Democrats in particular. Look for a lot more hostility out of Gorsuch as he becomes more comfortable and more powerful in his position.

Looks like the GOP crank anti-science caucus is up to their same old crap.

Senators call on National Science Foundation to investigate climate change grants
https://www.cnn.com/2018/06/21/politics ... index.html

(CNN)Four Republican senators have called on National Science Foundation Inspector General Allison Lerner to investigate the foundation's grant-making process, citing a grant charged with enabling television meteorologists to provide viewers with climate change education.

In the June 18 letter, Sens. Ted Cruz of Texas, Rand Paul of Kentucky, and James Lankford and Jim Inhofe, both of Oklahoma, express their concern that the National Science Foundation has "issued several grants which seek to influence political and social debate rather than conduct scientific research."

[snip][end]

The reason we have a National Science Foundation (and similar organizations) is to bring scientific evidence to political and social debate -- you fucking dotards.
