The Executive Board ("E-Board") of the California Democratic Party voted to Endorse former State Senate Pro-Tem Kevin De Leon for the U.S. Senate.

http://www.latimes.com/politics/la-pol- ... tory.html#.

The Endorsement of DeLeon is a sharp rebuke of current incumbent Senator Diane Feinstein. At the CADEM Convention in February of this year, neither DeLeon or Feinstein garnered sufficient from Convention Delegates to get the Party's Endorsement.

As a Delegate to that Convention, I voted No Endosement.

The Victory by De Leon reflects the growing enfluence of the Liberal/Progressive Wing of the Democratic Party who has become disenchanted with Senator Feinstein in recent years.

De León, a former state Senate leader from Los Angeles, received 65% of the vote of about 330 members of the state party’s executive board — more than the 60% needed to win the Endorsement.

While serving as California State Senate Pro-Tem, De Leon shared an apartment with a fellow Democrat who eventually left the Senate over allegations of Sexual Harassment of Women working in the State Capital. De Leon claimed to have no knowledge the the Harassment.

My vote for No Endorsement stems from a lack of confidence in Feinstein and the willful ignorance De Leon over Sexual Harassment.

Senator Feinstein won the June Primary against De Leon. Based on "Top Two Vote Getters" system California Feinstein and De Leon will still face off in November. There is no Republican Candidate for Senate in California.

I hate the California Voting System as it stands, but seem a majority Californians do. At least until their choice for public office looses.

It's pretty easy to be disenchanted with Senator Feinstein, "recent years" would be about 20 years if one used my disenchant as a gauge.

I looked closely at the county by county primary vote totals and decided it was Republicans who voted for her in the greatest numbers. She won the red counties with the greatest margin.

That is pretty telling. I disagree with the OP about that statement which says its a growing influence of the Liberal/Progressive Wing of the Democratic Party which is driving this. This is an everybody in the party issue.

The Lion gets my vote in November because he's not Senator Feinstein.

But don't you worry those Republicans and a few Democrats who don't read or keep up with news will insure Senator Feinstein will be allowed to die of old age in her creaky old chair.

Unless things change drastically, I will not vote for either in November. DiFi is still too much of a ConservADem to suit my taste. De Leon was President Pro-Tem during the Sexual Harassment of Women by his Roomie. He had a responsibility to protect them and failed. No vote based on that.

That seems somewhat disconnected. I've never been able to control the behavior of my roommates. He may of may not even have been aware of it.

But it's your vote, your call.

I do however think if one doesn't vote for The Lion they're in essence voting for Senator Feinstein.

Bruce Phillips is a possibility for your throw away vote, he's dead, but he was a California resident after he moved away from Utah after having made a run for the US Senate from there.

About the worst thing he ever did was to serve a Moose Turd Pie to a gang of Gandydancers. But they thought it was "Good Though."
