Atlanta appeals court again rules gays, lesbians not a protected class

The federal appeals court in Atlanta has once again decided that gays and lesbians are not protected under federal discrimination laws because of their sexual orientation.

In a decision issued Wednesday, the full 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against former Clayton County employee Gerald Lynn Bostock, refusing to reconsider a decision that said Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 does not extend workplace protections to gays and lesbians. Bostock contends he was fired as a child welfare services coordinator because he is gay.

ALL rights are gone, ALL. Wait till this gets to the SC where they will make it permanent.

Wait, someone here argued that Gorsuch might be a good justice after all FUCK

If all rights were gone, we'd both have been arrested days ago.

It's more accurate to say that 30 years of progress are very seriously threatened. See how it works? Your statement implies that the only options left are suicide or a one way ticket to a more enlightened country. Mine implies that politics runs in circles and the only losers are the ones who give up.

Eventually, these Title VII cases are going to get heard by the SCOTUS because appellate courts as well as the DOJ and EEOC are all of widely variant opinion on whether the "sex" in Title VII by definition includes sexual orientation.

But yeah, the trolls and bots this week are steadily busy prattling on about her emails.

The worst of it is it's not just bots and trolls, it's plenty of our fellow supposed allies, and the ones still seeking to teach us a lesson about the 2016 primaries. :problem:

F all of them.

Oh, were it only that simple. Unfortunately, you confuse effects with causes. The corruption of the Bernie campaign to divide the party would not have mattered had one interest group not begun mobilizing as soon as WWII ended to take over US politics. A few people called them out, and a number of oppressed groups fought their own battles, but everyone else pretty much called activists a bunch of nut cases, and fiddled while America burned. By 2016, that interest group had a broad coalition. It was in the end game, while we still blathered over who was a socialist. Then we went to the beach.

Causes and effects, my friend, causes and effects.

We know people stayed home because they heard "holding my nose to vote for Hillary" or "I just cant trust her" or "both parties the same" and we heard ALL those things from PROGRESSIVES.

There are progressives who didn't act that way. All the ones I know voted Democratic, although some voted the party instead of the person. Maybe in the places micro-targeted by CA, there were more who didn't vote or wasted their votes. I don't have enough information to say. I'm sure there's a visible minority who make a fuss on DU, but visible minorities remain minorities.
