Misogyny is Still Alive, at Least at Boise State University

Post by Number6 »

Where do women belong, in the house raising children or wherever they wish to be. According to Scott Yenor, a political science professor at Boise State University, should be kept out of engineering, medical school, or law and concentrate on homemaking and raising children
A political-science professor at one of Idaho’s top universities has sparked outrage after openly calling for women to be kept out of engineering, medical school, and law so that they can instead focus on “feminine goals” such as “homemaking and having children.”

Boise State University Scott Yenor, who previously served on far-right Lt. Gov. Janice McGeachin’s task force investigating right-wing claims of “indoctrination” in schools, made the bizarre declaration during the National Conservatism Conference in Orlando in late October, the Idaho Statesman reports.

“Young men must be respectable and responsible to inspire young women to be secure with feminine goals of homemaking and having children,” he told the crowd. “Every effort must be made not to recruit women into engineering, but rather to recruit and demand more of men who become engineers. Ditto for med school, and the law, and every trade,” he said.

It's bad enough there are men, and some women, who still live in the 20th century but guys like Yenor are still in the 19th century. A person's gender doesn't define their intellectual ability any more than it defines their ability to accomplish. With women comprising half the world's population it would be foolish thinking to exclude them from helping to solve the problems of the world. Most people, men and women, will never accomplish something that changes the world but they will accomplish little things that will influence the people around them. Whether they're engineers, doctors/nurses, lawyers, mechanics, salespersons, etc., everyone affects the people around them. To discredit half the world's population because they're born female is, to use a clique, the height of stupidity.

When I was looking for the dart board photo I noticed that he's written a puke book and also goes on Tucker Carlson show.
