Sergeant James Russell of the Alameda County Sheriff's Office is claiming that he was confused and did not know it was against the law to record meetings between Attorneys and Juvenile Suspects at Eden Township Substation.

https://www.sfchronicle.com/crime/artic ... 315671.php.

Not only did Sergeant Russell record meetings between Prisoners and their Lawyers, he was bold enough to tell his Lieutenant that he was doing it.

In California, it against the law for a third party to record privilleged conversations between Attorney's and their Clients.

He was confused folks, honest he did not he was breaking the law...my ass.
