I really think if Chicago, St. Louis, and Detroit had less of that "blk culture" thing there'd be a lot less violent crime!

BTW, somehow, the safest cities in the U.S. (like Honolulu) still have some blk people, but they just I guess those ones don't have that bad "blk culture" stuff. Good thing!

(Yes, let's not talk about poverty, segregation rates, neighborhood conditions, levels of opportunity, all that 'sociological crap'.)

Oh ... and guns. No, don't talk about those, or more importantly, how they are winding up in urban areas like south side of Chicago. (Hint: neighboring states formerly governed by Mike Pence.)
No, no, don't talk about that.

"Guns," that reminds me, I saw a video I'd like everyone interested in gun control to watch. I've talked about this aspect of the issue before. :|

www.youtube.com Video from : www.youtube.com

Basically this video shows people how to make a gun with not much more than their bare hands, making it from a steel bolt.

Hmm, let's see. In this thread we've so far talked about:

• Brett Angrypants Kavanaugh

• Indignant Miss Graham

• Ugly bottle blond Donald Trump

• The floated policy on eliminating government recognition of trans people

• This adminstration resurrecting the child separation policy it claims to have ended

• White conservative vote suppression in this midterm season

• Conservative Evangelicals' prayers that coercive change of other people's sexual orientation will remain legal

• Proud Boys leader boasting of NYPD support

• Some recent uncivl tweets of DJT meant to intimidate Elizabeth Warren, Stormy Daniels, and early voters

• DJT declaring "the caravan" a national emergency

• Anonymous posted signs singling out "illegal aliens," whatever they're supposed to look like :problem:

• Daily Stormer neo-nazi flyers in a North Carolina neighborhood

• Related, old-school antisemitic pamphleting

• DJT invoking the spectre of "Middle Easterners" in "the caravan"

• Miami GOP in league with Proud Boys

• Bumper sticker in Brooklyn proclaiming, "Fight for the truth / Punch a journalist"

• Glen's stalking and tacit threats towards Libertas

• A 1934 New York Times article on this guy telling rabbis that they should be expressing good will towards Hitler instead of fighting back and boycotting

• Some dumb conservative "artist" defacing a Halloween movie billboard with a picture of Maxine Waters and the words #UNCIVIL and DEMOCRATS

• A bomb found in George Soros's mailbox

• A rabid Iowa #prolife #profamily wingnut burning LGBTQ books at the library

• More racist robocalls against Gillum

Most of these items are conservative behavior from the past couple weeks.

But true to white-conservative "civility" form, aragorn would MUCH rather quip about arrest rates by ethnicity and race. :problem:

And other than these drive-bys from glenfs and aragorn, the Uptown Klan around here are steering miles clear of this thread.

Chicaaaaaaggggggggooooo!!!!!!!

And Chicago, it turns out, is the 25th most dangerous city on the country, based on per capita violent crime data.

White supremacist Donald Trump supporters plan to intimidate black voters on Election Day - Independent

Quote:
White supremacist groups say they will mobilise members to watch polls in areas largely populated by people of colour on Election Day, prompting concerns of conflict and an effort to disenfranchise black voters by the alt-right wing of Donald Trump’s support.

Leaders of the Oath Keepers, the National Socialist Movement, the Ku Klux Klan, and the American Freedom Party told Politico that they intend to monitor polling places “informally” or on behalf of the Trump campaign.

The Trump campaign – which recently earned the endorsement of the KKK’s official newspaper – has galvanised supporters from the white supremacist fringes of US politics. Mr Trump himself urged his supporters to watch the polls in “certain areas” of Pennsylvania.

Last week, a senior Trump official told Bloomberg Businessweek that the campaign had initiated a “voter suppression” to discourage black voters, white liberals, and young women from voting.

Look at this stupid antigay bigot

Pompeo accuses migrant caravan in Mexico of inciting violence for political purposes - NBC News

Quote:
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo raised the stakes Sunday night as thousands of Central American migrants headed for the United States marched into Mexico, claiming they were inciting violence under the influence of politically motivated leaders.

There's no precise calculation of how many migrants make up the caravan, but Mexican civil protection authorities said Sunday that about 7,000 people, most of them from Honduras, had set out from an area near the Mexican-Guatemalan border for Tapachula in the Mexican state of Chiapas.

About 2,000 others have been intercepted and returned to Honduras, Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales said.

The United States has put pressure on Mexico and Honduras to stop the procession, warning over the last week that the travelers were vulnerable to human smuggling rings and other criminal organizations

The guy this person works for holds kkk MAGAhat rallies every week, now. No Republican has any business accusing anyone else of "inciting violence".

How come there's so many stupid antigay bigots doing this?? Oh wait, cuz the Trump administration is packed to the gills with antigay bigots. Anyway,

Pence backs Trump’s claim Middle Easterners are in migrant caravan, despite lack of evidence - Business Insider

Quote:
Vice President Mike Pence on Tuesday stood by President Donald Trump's unsubstantiated claim there are "Middle Easterners" among thousands of Central American migrants headed for the US-Mexico border.

"It's inconceivable that there are not people of Middle Eastern descent in a crowd of more than 7,000 people," Pence told The Washington Post.

In a statement to Business Insider, Alyssa Farah, press secretary for the vice president, said, "In 2017 alone the US apprehended on average 10 suspected terrorists a day attempting to enter the country illegally. And those are just the ones that we catch. It's inconceivable that this caravan - which is being broadcast around the globe - hasn't already been infiltrated by individuals with ties to extremism."

Farah added, "This is not complicated: this is an affront to our sovereignty, an exploitation of our laws and generosity, and those who seek to normalize or sugar-coat this tactic do so risking national security and sovereignty."

On Monday, Trump lamented the Mexican government's alleged inability to "stop" the caravan.

"Criminals and unknown Middle Easterners are mixed in. I have alerted Border Patrol and Military that this is a National Emergy. Must change laws!" he tweeted.

In remarks to reporters on Monday, Trump told them if they looked closely at the caravan they'd find evidence to back up his claims.

"You're gonna find MS-13, you're gonna find Middle Eastern, you're going to find everything," Trump said. "And guess what? We're not allowing them in our country. We want safety."

Those who burn books will eventually burn YOU. Invariably, those people are conservatives.

Han Koehle FB post

Quote:
This photo is usually divorced from its specific content. It is the most famous image of Nazi book burning. Most people assume the specific books don't matter. The horror is at the notion of destroying books, any books, which I can certainly understand. But let's talk about what was in them anyway.

This image shows Nazi-aligned vigilantes (not just government agents) destroying the library of Magnus Hirschfeld's Institute for Sexual Science. Hirschfeld was the founder of modern transgender theory, and it is his displaced students who founded transgender advocacy in the US. Destroying this library destroyed the first central hub of transgender advocacy in the world. This loss is not an inconvenience. Parts of that library can never be replaced.

In the 1910s Earl Lind read one of the books from that library and wrote for a feminist magazine that mothers ought to raise their trans children according to their endorsed gender (as Lind said, their "mental sex"). One hundred years ago there was a movement to normalize trans people. It was based on scientific study and the assertion that the policies of a just society should be based on sound evidence, and sound evidence showed that gender variance was perfectly natural and perfectly healthy. That movement is what was displaced when Nazis stormed the library and burned all the books they found.

We recovered from the loss of Hirschfeld's collection, eventually. We are once again at a place where people write to feminist journals extolling parents (no longer mothers!) to raise their trans children according to the genders of their hearts. But suppressing trans existence is so visible at the heart of the party that just came to power in this country. We'll see what happens next.

Conservative white male domestic terrorism starts at home.

White Nationalist Richard Spencer’s Wife Says In Divorce Filings That He Physically And Emotionally Abused Her - Buzzfeed

Quote:
“The only language women understand is violence,” Nina Koupriianova said Spencer told her. Spencer said, “I dispute many of her assertions.”

Koupriianova — who went by Kouprianova in some public interviews and N.K. in the documents — “has been reluctant to call police or seek an order of protection for fear of further reprisal by” Spencer, her lawyers said in court documents. “Much of the abuse has occurred in the presence of the parties’ children.”

The documents said that Spencer’s “controversial public life” has led “his entire family to be targets of violence,” and Spencer kept a loaded weapon in his bedroom that was “accessible by children” after he was “assaulted in public” on the day of President Donald Trump’s inauguration.

“Despite the risk to his family,” Koupriianova argued in court, “[Spencer] continues to engage in extremely polarizing public speech advocating ‘peaceful ethnic cleansing’ and a white-only ‘ethno-state’ which tends to invite passions and violence.”

“Most, if not all, of [Spencer’s] public speaking events result in violence,” the affidavit states.

Spencer, who claims to have coined the term “alt-right,” has promoted his beliefs on a national stage at events and rallies that have more often than not attracted violence. Spencer attended the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville in 2017, where a woman protesting white supremacy was killed.

“I dispute many of her assertions,” Spencer said in court filings, adding he “denies each, every, and all allegations.”

Spencer told BuzzFeed News his lawyers would send a comment.

Koupriianova's lawyer declined to comment.

Meet the Moscow Mouthpiece Married to a Racist Alt-Right Boss - DB

Quote:
Nina Kouprianova is not a member of the racist alt-right. At least, that’s what she’ll say when you ask her. “I am not a member of any movement,” Kouprianova, who was born in the Soviet Union, recently told The Daily Beast via email. She added that she was “sympathetic” toward movements that “challenge the dominant and globally oriented post-Liberal ideology,” but white nationalism—that fracturing of the U.S., resulting in a white ethno-state that would salve the wounds of American racists—is not for her.

Still, the track record, both personally and professionally, of Kouprianova—who also goes by the nom de plume Nina Byzantina—casts a pall over her denials. This is, after all, a woman who elected to marry Richard Spencer, the longtime lodestar of American white nationalism and progenitor of the term “alt-right.” While the two are currently separated—as Spencer told The Washington Post, his recent work has taken a “toll” on their relationship—Kouprianova hasn’t publicly distanced herself from the views of her husband, a man who has kept neo-Nazis enthralled with his views and who has expressed continued admiration for Vladimir Putin.

In fact, Kouprianova, who has a young daughter with Spencer, wrote a letter this week to the Flathead Beacon, one of their local papers in Montana. In it, Kouprianova compares the “witch hunts” surrounding her husband to Stalinist purges: “Threats and intimidation, which my current extended family continues to experience in Whitefish [Montana], remind me of the way my grandfather was forced to live [in the Soviet Union],” Kouprianova wrote. And to be fair, following Spencer’s rise to prominence, threats—veiled and otherwise—have risen alongside. But the notion that the environment circling Kouprianova and Spencer is in any form reminiscent of Stalinist repression is, of course, laughable. And while the Kremlin’s transparent support for Donald Trump and the white nationalists undergirding his campaign are both concerning trends on their own, it’s the links between the two—links that are only just now becoming apparent—that are cause for that much more concern. It’s those links that actors like Kouprianova have helped expand.

Nice going, Nina.

But - look - violent females have existed (see: Aileen Wuornos), and there are all-female gangs. This is not biological essentialism.

WHY #METOO NEEDS TO TALK ABOUT PREDATORY WHITE WOMEN - Dame

Quote:
For many people, this incident evokes the story of Emmett Till, and legions of other Black boys and teenagers across America who were falsely accused of sexual assault by white girls and women, and subsequently attacked, arrested, and even murdered.

Harvey was spared the indignity and the violence thanks to the store’s surveillance footage, as well as a strong village of Black folks and one courageous white woman who rallied around him to keep him safe. Unlike the past, when news outlets presumed the guilt of young Black males and printed inflammatory headlines that justified lynchings, “Cornerstore Caroline” has been dragged in the media and through the internet streets.

But this incident still begs for a deeper discussion about race, age, and sexual assault, as well as about the silence of right-wing assertions of an upsurge in male vulnerability as an inadvertent result of the #MeToo movement, and a discussion of the blind spots in feminist activism around sexualized violence in a racialized context.

For many Americans, sexual violence and assault most commonly vacillate around the female body as victim to male aggression. But what resonance does this have in a world where young Black boys have been criminalized and killed by nothing more than the words of white women?

Nashville gay bars receive pro-Trump fliers with image of assault rifle - The Hill

Quote:
Melvin Brown, the owner of Nashville’s Stirrup Sports Bar, told WTVF that he sees the flyer as a threat. The images were delivered with a “MAGA” stamp on the back, according to WTVF, a reference to Trump's "Make America Great Again" slogan.

"When you put a picture of an assault riffle on there which was used in the Pulse shooting and you mail it to every LGBT bar in Nashville, that is coming from a hateful place,” Brown said. “To say that it's disturbing is an understatement.”

Broken record here, for YEARS I have said ALL republicans will want the Gay and the Black etal either gone or dead.

Now that means the republican party gets smaller, some who dont want that disavow, but anyone still a repub wants this.

A bomb being mailed to Hillary Clinton doesn't stop Trump supporters in Wisconsin from chanting 'Lock her up!' - The Week

Quote:
In Wisconsin, supporters of President Trump attending a campaign rally in Mosinee were unmoved by someone mailing an explosive device to Hillary Clinton, chanting, "Lock her up! Lock her up! Lock her up!" after Republican Senate candidate Leah Vukmir mentioned the former secretary of state's name.

Vukmir spoke ahead of Trump, and as the crowd chanted "Lock her up!" she smiled and laughed. It's a refrain heard at almost every Trump rally, although typically the chants begin when Trump is onstage, having whipped the crowd into a frenzy. Trump came to Wisconsin to rally for Vukmir; a Reuters/University of Virginia Center for Politics poll released Wednesday has incumbent Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin 15 points ahead of Vukmir.

Explosives were sent to Clinton and several other high-profile Democrats, including former President Barack Obama, as well as CNN. Before leaving for the Wisconsin rally, Trump said the country needs to "unify, we have to come together, and send one very clear, strong, unmistakable message: that acts or threats of political violence, of any kind, have no place in the United States of America."

...unless they're directed at our political opponents and perceived enemies!

Veterans Affairs official hung portrait of Ku Klux Klan's first grand wizard in his office - ABC News

Quote:
A senior official at the Veterans Affairs Department hung a painting of the first Ku Klux Klan grand wizard and Confederate general in his office but removed it after some employees circulated a petition to force him to take it down.

David Thomas, a deputy director in the VA office that verifies small businesses for government contracts, never directly received complaints from his coworkers about the painting, a spokesman for the federal agency said Wednesday.

The portrait depicts Nathan Bedford Forrest, a Confederate Army general turned inaugural KKK leader, posing on the back of a horse. The words “No Surrender” and the date 1862 are written on a title card below the painting.

Thomas did not respond to requests for comment.

...

ABC News confirmed the report and obtained photos of Thomas' office while the portrait was still hanging. The person who took the photos does not want to be identified because of fear of retaliation.

Rodney Howard-Browne: Ruth Bader Ginsburg Should be Shot for Treason - RWW

Quote:
On Monday, right-wing pastor and radical conspiracy theorist Rodney Howard-Browne guest-hosted “The Alex Jones Show” on InfoWars, during which he asserted that Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg should be shot for treason.

Howard-Browne, who laid hands upon and prayed over President Trump in the Oval Office last year, was interviewing right-wing activist and commentator KrisAnne Hall, when he attacked Gingsburg for daring to suggest, back in 2012, that Egypt should “look at the Constitution of South Africa” when drafting a new constitution, rather than the U.S Constitution.

“If you hear Bader Ginsburg talk, she talks about the Constitution of America being totally flawed,” Howard-Browne complained.

After Hall recounted Ginsburg’s 2012 statement, Howard-Browne asserted that Ginsburg should have been removed from office because “that was high treason.”

“She should have been impeached, immediately,” Hall agreed.

“I’d have them shot,” Howard-Brown replied. “To me, that’s a total violation, because how do you pledge to defend the Constitution when you are totally throwing it under the bus?”

Yeah, talking about how something's flawed, suggests it could be improved. Wanna know something? Those Founders even considered that, so they had a process whereby it could be amended ... and improved.

P.S. I am of the philosophy that we can change our interpretations and understandings of it without having to always go through the designed-to-be-difficult amendment process. See: Griswold.

Anyhoo, more civility.

More on these Rise Above dorks

California white supremacists vowed to ‘reimagine’ racist movements with new look, secretive tactics - LA Times

Quote:
From the beginning, the founders of the so-called Rise Above Movement had a goal: to reinvent what it meant to be a white nationalist.

Members of the Southern California group were instructed to blend in at political rallies with polo shirts, khakis and military-style haircuts. They were told to avoid violent or extremist language on social media, to keep a low profile.

“Its time to reimagine the nationalist look and playbook, we have become predictable that needs to change,” Benjamin Daley told an associate in a Facebook message in August 2017.

At rallies across California and last year in Charlottesville, Va., they showed up trained and ready to fight their political enemies. Authorities believe their notorious leader, Robert Rundo of Huntington Beach, then posted clips of the racism-fueled violence on Twitter to recruit — the attackers’ faces covered by their distinctive skeleton or U.S. flag masks.

Federal authorities have been working to dismantle the organization, early this month arresting Daley and three others — Thomas Walter Gillen, 34, of Redondo Beach; Michael Paul Miselis, 30, of Lawndale; and Cole Evan White, 24, from the Northern California city of Clayton — for their role in the violence.

That crackdown continued this week when Rundo was picked up in Central America and arrested Sunday at Los Angeles International Airport.

Rundo, 28, and three others were charged with using the internet and traveling to incite or participate in riots, according to a criminal complaint unsealed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles. Tyler Laube, 22, of Redondo Beach and Robert Boman, 25, of Torrance were arrested Wednesday morning, while Aaron Eason, 38, of Anza in Riverside County, remains at large. If convicted, they each face up to 10 years in federal prison.

In a federal courtroom Wednesday, Rundo sat quietly in a white jumpsuit, staring down with his hands clasped together in his lap. A federal judge denied him bail, calling him a flight risk, despite his roommate, another alleged RAM member, offering to post bond.

The roommate declined to speak to a reporter outside the courtroom. “I got nothing to say,” he said.

Asst. U.S. Atty. David Ryan said Rundo had taken several trips abroad, including one to Mexico and another to Germany, Italy and Ukraine to celebrate Adolf Hitler’s birthday and meet with other white supremacists. And when other RAM members were arrested recently, Rundo launched an online fundraising campaign for their defense, Ryan said.

The prosecutor also pointed out Rundo’s criminal history, which includes a conviction in a stabbing case, and said that when authorities searched his home, they found a large framed portrait of Hitler.

These people actually call themselves Trumpenkriegers

Quote:
In January, authorities found graffiti in an Agua Chinon Wash tunnel in Irvine, where RAM members have met to train. The words “RAM” and “RISE ABOVE” were sprayed inside the tunnel in yellow paint, and a Celtic cross with the number “14” over the top was sprayed in black.

One of the highest-profile local attacks occurred in March 2017 at a “Make America Great Again” rally at Bolsa Chica State Beach in Huntington Beach, where attendees and RAM members — including the three arrested Wednesday — confronted counter-protesters and attacked two journalists covering the event, the affidavit said.

As one reporter stumbled backward, Laube grabbed his shoulder and punched him three times in the face. Videos also show that Rundo approached a counter-protester from behind and punched him in the back of the head, the affidavit said.

The Daily Stormer, a forum popular among neo-Nazis, posted an article headlined, “Trumpenkriegers Physically Remove Antifa Homos in Huntington Beach.”

More Than 200 Migrant Children Are Still In Federal Custody, Separated From Families - NPR

Quote:
CHANG: And where are these children being held right now, these 245 children that are still in custody?

GELERNT: They are being held in government facilities all across the country often thousands of miles from where the parents are. I would say of the 245, a number - about 125 - are going to remain in custody until a sponsor takes them. And that's because we've reached the parents, and they've made the agonizing decision to leave their child in the U.S. not because they don't love the child, not because they don't desperately want the child back with them. But what they're saying to us is it's too dangerous for the child to come back.

One father said to me, look; my life is over. If I'm killed, I'm killed. And this is a father who seemed to be in his 40s or 50s. Obviously his life shouldn't have been over. He shouldn't have been thinking that way. But all he said to us was, I cannot bring my child back here. It's too dangerous. We're hopeful that the government will allow some of these parents to return to the U.S. and reunite. But right now, the only thing definite we can tell those parents is you have two choices. Leave your child in the U.S. to pursue asylum, or bring them back to Central America.

CHANG: We have heard at various points that some of the families are deemed ineligible for reunification because the parents have criminal backgrounds. What kinds of criminal backgrounds are we talking about here?

GELERNT: So they vary. We have said all along that if a parent has a very serious conviction that bears on their fitness to be a parent, even under standard child welfare laws, state law, they would not be reunited. And so those people, we've always said, would not be reunited.

CHANG: OK.

GELERNT: But what we're also seeing are people not reunited because of disorderly conduct, DUIs, allegations that they may be part of a gang. And that is extremely troubling because we're talking about 4-year-old kids, 3-year-old kids who are not being reunited with their parents because the government's saying it's just too dangerous to put them in a family detention center with their child. And we could not disagree more strongly with that.

Conservatives and their sh#t policies then turn around and demand civility. Really?

White man arrested for hurling racial slurs at black GOP campaign volunteer at North Carolina polling station - NBC News

Quote:
A white man was arrested for brandishing what turned out to be a BB gun and yelling racial slurs at a black campaign volunteer outside a North Carolina polling station, authorities said Thursday.

Jason Donald Wayne, 28, was booked into the Mecklenburg County Jail and charged with going armed to the terror of people, communicating threats, disorderly conduct and ethnic intimidation, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.

The incident happened a little after 2:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday when Republican activist Derek Partee, who is African-American, showed up at a polling station to hand out GOP campaign leaflets to early voters.

Partee — a retired detective for the Nassau County Police Department in New York — said a polling station volunteer and a Democratic activist both told him there was a suspicious car about 50 yards away taking pictures.

“He looked sleazy, he looked out of place,” Partee told NBC News on Thursday.

As Partee got closer to snap his own photos of the car and license plate, two men jumped out and hurled racial slurs at him. One of the men photographed by Partee had a gun in his holster.

“A white male jumps out of the drivers side and says, 'Yo (N-word) you want some of this!'" Partee recalled.

“Then both are yelling, 'You black motherf----- you want some of this?’ I said, 'I’m a police detective’ and they said, 'I don’t give a f--- what you are!’”

We're all gang members, to them.

Police: Too soon to say if shooting was racial attack - Yahoo

Quote:
JEFFERSONTOWN, Ky. (AP) — A white man with a history of violence fatally shot two African-American customers at a Kroger grocery store and was swiftly arrested as he tried to flee, police said Thursday. Authorities said it was too soon to say what prompted the shooting.

News outlets have reported that the suspect made a racial comment to a man he encountered on his way out of the store after the shooting Wednesday. But when asked if the attack may have been racially motivated, Jeffersontown Police Chief Sam Rogers responded, "I can't speculate on motive at this time. ... We are pursuing all avenues of the investigation no matter where that takes us or what it involves."

At a news conference Thursday, Rogers did say surveillance video shows the suspect tried unsuccessfully to enter the First Baptist church in Jeffersontown before he went to the Kroger. The church is headed by a black pastor and has a large African-American membership.

The FBI announced that it "is evaluating the evidence to determine if there were any violations of federal law."

Rogers also said the suspect, 51-year-old Gregory Alan Bush, apparently does have a history of mental il
