There's more ... but anyway, do your Thanksgiving shopping before at these places, do Black Friday if that's your thing after (it's not mine), but honor these places for staying closed on Thanksgiving ... respecting employees enough to give them time to spend with their families.

While a lot of stores will be closed, let's not forget the men and women who will be working on Thanksgiving and thank them for being there. These include not only restaurants and fast food places but others such as grocery stores/supermarkets, convenience store, theaters, taxis/Uber/Lyft drivers, police/fire/emergency services, doctors/nurses and medical staff, and many more people we tend not to see but whose work allow us to enjoy our holidays.

I will be working on Thanksgiving.

I know there are many kinds of first responders and emergency personnel working Thanksgiving. Crime never takes a day off, neither does exploding turkey fryers, or natural disasters. And we must have our football games!
To be clear, I also know plenty of people want to work Thanksgiving for extra pay, or they have no family, or they don't celebrate, or do it later ... nothing wrong with that.
My only issue is with retail establishments that force all employees in for that day and don't give them a choice.
BTW, personally, I prefer to patronize Small Local Business Saturday rather than Corporate Chain Palooza Black Friday.

Don't know about the entire list but the turkey will cost you an extra 20
I'm sure you'll use the list as a "don't buy", and get as little made in USA as possible.
But I'm going to go get a turkey probably Sunday. I'll let you know the difference between union and non-union. I'm sure it won't be $20 difference. You are wildly exaggerating.

I saw them at Kroger in Atlanta Butterball was around $45. The other brand 49 cents a pound

I'll be sure to send you photos of proof. Now, of course, quality matters, and the Butterballs have ALWAYS been seen as higher quality. For one thing, they are brined by Butterball, and they are always Grade A turkeys. Here's an article about why Butterball is more expensive, and it has nothing to do with being union.

That's the result of the "marketplace" determining what the price is based on what the supply and demand is. I've cooked turkeys in the past and now I buy precooked turkey breasts from Costco and they're better than any turkey I or others have cooked.

[bold]Which is only second to Costco's bakery goods.
It's not Union but, Costco guarantees its staff seven paid holidays off, including the big ones of Thanksgiving, Christmas, Memorial Day, and Labor Day. There's also a floating paid holiday for Martin Luther King Jr. Day that can be taken before or after the day itself.

I swear the bowling center staff polishes the pin with Viagra because so many of them are standing erect after I throw the ball!

Unions aren't necessary if companies and corporations treat their employees honestly and fairly. I have no problems with Costco because they pay good wages and treats their employees fairly.

I think unions are necessary even IF they are being treated honestly and fairly. Because a company can change at any time. I think it's better to have a contract that ensures good treatment. And BTW, there ARE some Costcos that are unionized.

I don't have a problem with there being a union but if the company or corporation is treating their employees fairly then the union has to do the same with not only its members but with the company or corporation as well.

Yep. It makes it easier, as the employees can speak as one as to their wants and needs.
We organized a small manufacturing facility that had a really great owner for forty years, who treated and paid the employees well. It was a family place. But then the boss retired, and his kids took over, and they were the exact opposite, treated everyone like crap, cut their pay and health care, and they figured out that's why you have a union even if your employer is great!

There is no alternative to a viable labor movement. Everything else is tyranny of the rich, as they have "other priorities."
Can't wait till they all move to Mars. Maybe they won't be so miserable there, dunno.
