Vince McMahon’s mother Vicki Askew passes away at 101 years old
ASKEW – Victoria, 101, of Woodlands, TX, and formerly of Ebensburg. “Vicki”, as she was known to friends and family, passed away quietly of natural causes in her sleep at home in The Woodlands, TX on Tuesday, January 20th. She was a young 101 years old, and is survived by one son, four grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Vicki was born on July 11, 1920 in Florence, South Carolina, the only daughter of four children of Orpheus William Hanner and Victoria Kennedy Hanner. The family moved when Vicki was a young girl to Sanford and then to East Sanford, NC where she spent her childhood.
Vicki was blessed with two sons, Rod and Vince, both of whom married their childhood sweethearts. Sadly, Rod passed away one year to the day before his mother. Vicki’s childhood was tough. She spoke of it in an interview for the North Shore Church in 2018:

Commack head coach Bryan Bonin passed away last night after a battle with cancer. He was just 33 years old. It is a truly devastating loss for the baseball community, his family and loved ones.
Bryan led the Commack Cougars to the Long Island Championship in 2021 with a hard-fought victory over Nassau Champion Massapequa. It was really inspiring that his team knew about his diagnosis and was able to rally behind him and capture their first LIC in program history. We named Bryan the Coach of the Year and he was the no-brainer selection. He also led them to the Class AA County Championship in 2017, which was his first season at the helm and it broke a drought of 20 years.

Hall of Fame coach Bill Fitch, who coached some of the NBA's biggest names and helped guide Larry Bird and the Boston Celtics to an NBA championship in 1981, died at the age of 89 on Wednesday.
Fitch, a two-time NBA Coach of the Year, was named to the Top 10 Coaches of All-Time list when the NBA celebrated its 50 greatest players during the league's 50th anniversary. Fitch was 10th all-time in wins among NBA coaches until Doc Rivers passed him in December of 2020.
