Probably the 96 Telecoms Act has something to do with it Senator.

Grassley reignites feud with History Channel

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) reignited his feud with the History Channel on Saturday after apparently watching a history program on another channel.

Long ago when I had a satellite dish I decided the History channel was misnamed.

I don't know what they do now but back then they did Nazi's and Hitler as if that was just about all, the end all, of what history is.

Maybe he'll Tweet like his idol the Tweeter-in-Chief why the TV cable guide lists The Twilight Zone as history.

I'd like to see more stories focusing on historical events but the truth is THC is competing with entertainment and sports channels for viewers so they have to do something to make history entertaining. I'll admit, I used to watch Pawn Stars but after awhile it was boring and most of the show was phony. I do watch The Curse of Oak Island mainly because like the brothers on the show I first read about Oak Island from the same Reader's Digest article back in the early 60s and became fascinated by the mystery.

Yeah, it's a rare moment of agreement, but I guess this might be one with Grassley.

I too would like to see some history on the history channel. Of something other than WW II, I agree. Not saying it's unimportant, but there are 5000 years of human history.

I'd love to learn on the learning channel about something other than Honey Boo Boo.

I'd like to discover something on the discovery channel other than Alaska. Not saying it's a bad state. Just asking for variety.

Now I get it. They're driven by ratings and profits and they know what gets it.

I will say there's still good stuff on the Nat Geo channel and Smithsonian channel. Plus, fortunately, PBS programs like NOVA.

You'd think with all the problems facing the U.S. today and how unproductive Congress has been a Senator would have more things to worry about than what is on The History Channel.
