Big Cable doing it's greedy dirty work again.

Verizon FiOS TV Loses Bloomberg TV

Users in our Verizon FiOS TV forum note that Verizon has culled Bloomberg TV from the company's channel lineup, arguing that too few customers watched the channel to make the company's price hikes worth it. The move is just the latest attempt by cable providers to eliminate channels that contribute to bloated channel bundle costs but don't see much in the way of actual viewers.

It's a bit like block booking in the classic Hollywood era. Before the big studios got the pants sued off of them.

I checked it at the link and it does indeed say, "Users in our Verizon FiOS TV forum note that Verizon has culled Bloomberg TV from the company's channel lineup, arguing that too few customers watched the channel to make the company's price hikes worth it. The move is just the latest attempt by cable providers to eliminate channels that contribute to bloated channel bundle costs but don't see much in the way of actual viewers."

A person ought to read that second sentence twice.

"The move is just the latest attempt by cable providers to eliminate channels that contribute to bloated channel bundle costs but don't see much in the way of actual viewers."

I think that means if a channel doesn't have many views but costs a lot and is hiking their price further and it's causing the bundle cost to increase a lot, they eliminate it.

That's sounds like what I would do. :|

I remember when I had a satellite dish years ago it had Bloomberg TV. If I remember it correctly it had elevator music background and scrolling text,,, boring boring boring! If it cost 10 cents it was over priced.
