It's always about money with him or should i say a bribery ransom.

In a forceful statement, Rupert Murdoch has called on digital behemoths like Facebook and Google to pay cable TV-style carriage fees to legitimate news content providers such as News Corp., where he is executive chairman.

Sure, Rupert himself doesn't put out any "fake news". Like Faux News spiking or editing stories about rBGH on behalf of Monsanto. (Snopes says they didn't invoke a "right to lie" but it seems hair splitting to me, they seemed to argue in court for their "right" to distort the news on behalf of corporate advertisers, which is why they fired two local reporters.)

On the one hand, there is a disinformation problem on Facebook and Google.

On the other hand, of course Rupert Murdoch's "solution" will put profits in his pocket, and be a bad one generally. Also dovetails nicely with his plans for a post-net neutrality world.
