Paul Reubens, the children's entertainer known as Pee-wee Herman, has died after a battle with cancer. He was 70.

Reubens' estate confirmed news of his death on his official Instagram page Monday. "Last night we said farewell to Paul Reubens, an iconic American actor, comedian, writer and producer whose beloved character Pee-wee Herman delighted generations of children and adults with his positivity, whimsy and belief in the importance of kindness," the announcement read. "Paul bravely and privately fought cancer for years with his trademark tenacity and wit. A gifted and prolific talent, he will forever live in the comedy pantheon and in our hearts as a treasured friend and man of remarkable character and generosity of spirit.

In the early 90s, I was stationed at Osan AB, South Korean. One of the NCOs in our base pharmacy was a dead ringer for Pee- wee Herman. He'd dress up in a Pee-wee Herman suit, slick his hair down, put makeup on his face to make it pasty white, and he could imitate his voice. You'd have a hard time telling the difference between them. Armed Forces Network got him to make a number of commercials for them imitating Pee-wee Herman.

Yeah, a lot of people who are mentioned on this thread are people who very few people have heard of. Deaths relatives of minor celebrities isn't noteworthy.

I got really stoned, drank 2-16 ounce Schlitz malt liquors, went to the local theater and sat three rows from the screen, this was after spending many years as a brainwashed Catholic who would believe this bullshit. And I’m not talking about The French connection ha ha.

The aftermath of that movie was something I can’t even explain

They don't really need him anymore. AI can voice it and that's a symptom of the problem.
