Can you please explain the nature of the question? :D

Are you saying that Global moderators are legendary?

I believe I've actually seen one or two in the wild.

Gheesh.

The software can set up different things. On large boards with many moderators, some moderators are set up only to moderate certain forums, say, entertainment. They don’t have the ability to moderate any forum but that.

Global moderators would be lead mods, and can moderate all forums. Administrators have the power to make changes to the board that moderators do not have.

Color me computer illiterate.

It's the first time i've ever seen the term "Global moderators". Which if i'm not mistaken is something new to the board.

Nope. It's been there from the beginning. It's part of the board software.

Think of Global Moderator as "One ring to rule them all," as in Lord of the Rings. The Global Moderator is "The moderator that rules the board's moderators."

Well i'll be dipped. Never noticed it before.

From the little surfing i've done since then it sounds like an option the owner of the board can use or not use?

Yes. Big boards with lots of members will have lots of moderators. Hell, we had quite a few at Air America Place. Zowie and I were both mods there.

It's built in as part of the software.

I think they were paying the lead moderators a decent wage on Daily Kos, because it had gotten so big, and they needed full-time folks. They also unionized there.

But I’ve never made a thin dime moderating Air America Place, ESSMB or this board. Of course, I hasten to add I’m not a mod on this board, I quit that long ago. I’ve just got admin powers to keep things cobbled together.
