On federal issues they have an argument that needs to be defined by federal courts. Personally I believe if you are subpoenaed by Congress or any court unless you are the sitting president you reply or get arrested
I have a friend sitting in county jail for not showing up to his court date involving a non violent crime. There should be no differences between that and not complying to a legal subpoena.
Having said all that this subpoena is issued by the state and involves nothing federal and no federal issues. So regardless of a person's opinion on the federal issues and regardless of how the federal courts rule. These being state issues if they do not honor the subpoena whatever would happen to me or any of you is exactly what should happen to them.

Correction: Filing to quash a subpoena is something anyone can do. If you have the money.... If their motion is denied, and they refuse to comply, then they're in violation of the law.

Last year, New York State Attorney General Letitia James subpoenaed Eric Trump and a judge force Eric Trump to testify. It will probably be no different with Ivanka and Donald Junior with them trying to stall by filling motions with the courts and they'll probably file a lawsuit against Letitia James claiming the lawsuit needs to be settled first before the subpoena can be enforced. IMO, they'll be forced by a judge to give testimony before any lawsuit they may have filed can be heard.

Here's part of the problem Ivanka and Donny Junior face; what did Eric Trump tell Attorney General Letitia James last year? IIRC, what he told her and her team would be confidential in that Eric Trump wasn't allowed to tell anyone other than his lawyer, who would also be barred from telling anyone, what he said or the information he provided to her.

Ivanka and Donny Junior are now going to be worried as to what Eric said and how they should respond. Did Eric provide information or cut a deal to keep from going to jail or to get reduced jail time and less in fines? Not only are Ivanka and Donny Junior worried but TFG needs to be worried as well. It make come down to which of TFG's children he'll protect. My bet is it will be Ivanka.
