2024 Presidential Election
Re: 2024 Presidential Election
Being VP doesn't increase anyone's stature. You're a spare. You live at the Naval Observatory, of all places, and get a lot of free travel and protection, and that's about it. Oh, and you break ties in the Senate, and I believe Harris has done that at least once, so it's not a complete sinecure.

Frauds that’s what No Labels is.
No Labels files DOJ complaint about groups boycotting its 2024 presidential ballot access effort
No Labels, a political group that's preparing a potential independent presidential ticket in 2024, filed a Justice Department complaint requesting an investigation into some organizations led by Democrats and their allies that the group alleges are trying to interfere in its efforts to gain ballot access in all 50 states and Washington D.C.
No Labels leader and lawyer Dan Webb announced the complaint in a press conference in Washington Thursday and said the filing alleged an "unlawful conspiracy to subvert Americans voting rights, and shut down the organization's effort to secure ballot access in the 2024 presidential election."

Ron Filipkowski on the ABC/CBS/NBC Saturday morning news shows avoiding showing/mentioning Trump's confusion
Ron Filipkowski @RonFilipkowski
Long GMA segment this morning on NH primary. All horse race stuff. Poll results. Age of candidates. Not one word about Trump’s sweaty, addled, incoherent speech where he confused Haley with Pelosi with several other gaffes. Media is failing us miserably. What a joke.

Marianne Williamson on Running for President, Challenging Biden & Calling for a Gaza Ceasefire
It's primary day in New Hampshire. As Donald Trump and Nikki Haley square off in the Republican race, we speak to 2024 Democratic presidential candidate Marianne Williamson on her longshot campaign against President Biden.
In an unusual twist, Williamson's name is on today's ballot, but Biden's is not. Biden opted out of running in New Hampshire after the state refused to move its primary until after South Carolina's.
Williamson discusses why she's running for president, her antiwar platform, calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, immigration reform and the New Hampshire primary election.
"Just like with health and sickness, you don't just treat sickness, you learn to cultivate health," she says. "We need to not just drop bombs and put people in prison when there is conflict. We need to learn to prevent conflict. We need to proactively create peace."

She was given responsibility for certain things. The border for instance. She didn’t do much there but then again, it’s Biden’s policy and if the policy sucks there is not much you can do. So while you point may be valid, she hasn’t helped herself any.ZoWie wrote: ↑Wed Jan 17, 2024 11:00 am Being VP doesn't increase anyone's stature. You're a spare. Trump’s candidacy on the Illinois ballot should be decided by the courts, an elections board hearing officer says
Former Republican President Donald Trump participated in the fatal Jan. 6th insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, but it’s the courts — and not the State Board of Elections — that should decide whether to remove him from Illinois’ primary ballot, a state hearing officer recommended Sunday.
The Illinois objection to Trump’s candidacy was brought by five state voters, a national voting-rights organization involved in trying to keep Trump off the ballot and two Chicago law firms.

Biden campaign on Trump: ‘He shouldn’t be within 100 miles of the White House’
Mitch Landrieu, national co-chair of President Biden’s reelection campaign, said in a Sunday interview that former President Trump, the GOP front-runner for the presidential nomination, should not come within 100 miles of the White House, pointing to the 91 felony counts he faces.
“Do you know anybody, much less somebody who’s trying to be president, that has 91 felony counts against them right now in four separate courts, all across the country, brought by an independent legal system? There’s nobody in America,” Landrieu said in an interview on MSNBC’s “Inside with Jen Psaki.”

If Trump was smart which he isn't he would quit politics. Then plead out on his 91 felonies. Appeal the Civil Suit or negotiate it down to something between 20 and 30 million.ap215 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2024 9:02 am Biden campaign on Trump: ‘He shouldn’t be within 100 miles of the White House’

Become a martyr among his followers. Turn that into 25 to 100 million a year conning them.
And live the EZ life between now and the day he goes to his reward.
Doing that and living happy would piss off those obsessed with him more than anything short of winning reelection.

Of course, you have personal animosity towards her. You have nothing to back up your statement that she isn’t qualified beyond your belief that she is not qualified. Quayle was qualified to be VP. He simply wasn’t competent. That is the definition of the Peter Principle.Glennfs wrote: ↑Tue Jan 30, 2024 12:48 pm She has the exact same credentials as Quayle I suppose you consider him a great scholar.

You aren’t qualified to vote. Is that my personal animosity or is it factual?

Harris’ resume is quite a bit bigger than Dan Quayle’s was. But hey, that’s not the talking point, so Glenn goes with the bullshit rather than the reality.bird wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2024 7:12 am Of course, you have personal animosity towards her. Re: 2024 Presidential Election
Actually they are about the same. Had Harris never had a relationship with Willie Brown we would have never heard of her.
Had Quayle not been born rich we would have never heard of him.
Both have the same educational background.
Both were chosen because of who they were not because of any accomplishments.
Biden wanted a female and a minority.
Bush wanted a younger white male.
Neither have ever distinguished themselves on any level.

The overwhelming majority of posts on this or any board are opinion. Many times opinions are backed up by facts which makes those opinions much more informed and valid. ZoWie is an excellent example with his media experience so his opinions about media are extremely valid. The same goes for his experience in Hollywood.
What you post is opinion, period. Which you can same the same for a lot of what I post. Research, read, dig into issues and your opinions will likely become more valid. That is what I have done and continue to do.

Re: 2024 Presidential Election
Here’s a poll that will piss off our conservatives. https://poll.qu.edu/poll-release?releaseid=3889
As signs point to the 2024 presidential election being a repeat of the 2020 race between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, Biden holds a lead over Trump 50 - 44 percent among registered voters in a hypothetical general election matchup, according to a Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pea-ack) University national poll of registered voters released today.
In Quinnipiac University's December 20, 2023 poll, the same hypothetical 2024 general election matchup was 'too close to call' as President Biden received 47 percent support and former President Trump received 46 percent support.
In today's poll, Democrats (96 - 2 percent) and independents (52 - 40 percent) support Biden, while Republicans (91 - 7 percent) support Trump.
Re: 2024 Presidential Election
I have little doubt that Biden will defeat Trump. But why should we have to settle for either.gounion wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2024 8:26 am Here’s a poll that will piss off our conservatives. https://poll.qu.edu/poll-release?releaseid=3889

Dearborn Mayor to Biden: “Lives of Palestinians Should Not Be Measured Simply in Poll Numbers”
President Biden faced protests in Michigan this week over his ongoing support for the Israeli assault on Gaza. Michigan is a crucial swing state that could prove decisive in this year's presidential election and is also home to the largest percentage of Arab Americans in the United States.
Dearborn Mayor Abdullah Hammoud, who refused to meet with Biden's campaign manager last week, says it's inappropriate to consider electoral politics as U.S. policy supports an ongoing genocide.
"For us, the lives of Palestinians should not be measured simply in poll numbers," Hammoud tells Democracy Now!
We also speak with veteran pollster James Zogby, president of the Arab American Institute, who says the Biden team is "cut off from reality" if they believe people will forget their outrage over Gaza by the time of the November election. "The White House is taking for granted that they've got support — and they don't," says Zogby.
