Then you or his dad teach him those things. Would you want a teacher who was an evangelical Christian teaching from their perspective.
There is a reason why we are behind in math and science and that reason is obvious

No. Religion isn’t taught in public schools. Schools are for facts.
Listen genius I wasn't talking about religious teaching.
I want to teach real history. Not Donald Trump history.
You mean things like Cuba has better human rights than the USA
Re: MS judge strips trans girl of her human rights.
You brought up Cuba, not me. http://radiofreeliberal.com/viewtopic.p ... uba#p60559Glennfs wrote: ↑Tue May 23, 2023 7:30 pm viewtopic.php?p=60577#p60577
Here you go it took me awhile to get the link to copy.
You say you are appalled that Cuba has a better record on human rights than the USA
Again I picked Cuba because it was the easiest to spell. But you believe what you want including that Cuba hadca better record on human rights than the USAgounion wrote: ↑Tue May 23, 2023 7:32 pm You brought up Cuba, not me. http://radiofreeliberal.com/viewtopic.p ... uba#p60559
I did mean they had a better record on gay rights, which Toonces pointed out. Toonces also pointed out that their overall human rights record wasn’t very good. I stand corrected on the overall record, but stand by the gay rights point.Glennfs wrote: ↑Tue May 23, 2023 7:35 pm Again I picked Cuba because it was the easiest to spell. He goes to a Christian school.
We have people here who believe that 6 years old is the proper age to teach about Bridges and the atrocities of that eraToonces wrote: ↑Tue May 23, 2023 7:40 pm He goes to a Christian school.
Teachers don't indoctrinate. That doesn't happen. They don't have time to teach those things outside of what they are supposed to teach.
If teaching math, science, reading, writing, geography, history, et al, is indoctrination, then we have a fundamental disagreement about what indoctrination actually means.
Is allowing children to read books on Ruby Bridges indoctrination? Because it's books like that which have some parents complaining that their child will feel bad? If they shouldn't be touching on those subjects, tell me why? Why should a child learn about her? Or MLK? Or Martina Navratilova?
Explain to me why the teaching of these figures should be excluded from schools. If a parent doesn't want their child to learn it, I'll conclude them a poor parent, but why should their opinions preclude 24 other students from learning it?
That’s what educators think should be taught. If they’re old enough to be threatened like Ruby Bridges was, then they are old enough to learn about it.
Yes I do want 6 year old children protected from things they are to young to understand.gounion wrote: ↑Tue May 23, 2023 7:44 pm That’s what educators think should be taught. If they’re old enough to be threatened like Ruby Bridges was, then they are old enough to learn about it.
It’s something that you have no problem with what happened to that girl, and you want to censor it so children won’t learn.
You don’t want anyone to learn about the atrocities of the era.
Do you really believe that Cuba has a better record on gay rights. I mean you personally.gounion wrote: ↑Tue May 23, 2023 7:37 pm I did mean they had a better record on gay rights, which Toonces pointed out. And let’s be clear: YOU brought up Cuba first, then lied about it. Aren’t you proud of yourself?
But is that is where it's occurring? Not in grade 4?
What a stupid comment. This isn’t about religion. No one on the left here is against math and science. Well, except republicans, who are anti science.
More than 450 Catholic clergy in Illinois sexually abused nearly 2,000 children since 1950, the state’s attorney general found in an investigation released Tuesday, revealing that the problem was far worse than the church had let on.
Attorney General Kwame Raoul said at a news conference that investigators found that 451 Catholic clergy abused 1,997 children in Illinois between 1950 and 2019, though he acknowledged that the statute of limitations has expired in many cases and that those abusers “will never see justice in a legal sense.”
“It is my hope that this report will shine light both on those who violated their positions of power and trust to abuse innocent children, and on the men in church leadership who covered up that abuse,” Raoul said, crediting the accusers for making the review possible. “These perpetrators may never be held accountable in a court of law, but by naming them here, the intention is to provide a public accountability and a measure of healing to survivors who have long suffered in silence.”

380,000 churches in the USA. To be fair and accurate we would need to see numbers from recent history, say the last 10 years.
And over those 72 years, how many children were abused at drag shows or by drag queens?
