4 WTC is a union job.

Some weekend it's worth going down there. Weekend: thank a union. People died to get them. Going down there? Roads built by union labor. Subways built by union labor. Taxis built by union labor - hopefully. Cars built by union labor - maybe.

Maybe catch a show while you're in NYC. Union houses, every last one. Movies? The studios are usually IATSE, IBEW, AFM, SAG/AFTRA, and craft guilds. Of course, the independent productions can go either way, which brings the sole legitimate critique of unions -- they can become about power too. Having worked on indies, you do not want a non-union shoot. Honest. You don't sleep, and it gets dangerous. Injuries go way up.

Long as we're talking about entertainment, do you have time to go to a show at all? People died for that one too. "8 for the company, 8 for sleep, 8 for you." There were plant sit-ins and armed clashes over that slogan. Now we're losing it again. More like 10 for the company, and you take work home.

Vacation this year? Unions.

The labor movement was one of the last times the left won anything. (Civil rights/ voting rights was the VERY last. Viet Nam was a draw. Womens' rights failed.)

You can do anything you want, but I salute the people who got us to where we are.

I will thank workers who happen to be Union workers. Kudos to them.

Good lord! I Love the Steeplejacks!
If it weren't for them....
This world would still be flat!
