Marianne says she will continue her campaign with an all volunteer staff. She fired all her paid campaign staff.
https://www.politico.com/news/2020/01/0 ... ace-093188

I wish her love, light, and blessings. She will need them.

https://ballotpedia.org/Marianne_Willia ... aign,_2020

Nationally, she's polling at 0.3%, which is below John Delaney's 0.8%. Now I know. You're asking yourself "Who the fuck is John Delaney?" :rw) and you see the exact problem.

So, the gurus at 538 will say national polls are meaningless, so thus we turn to the first primary states.

Bad news: she's off the graph for Iowa, and at 0.7% in New Hampshire.

P.S. RCP has her average net unfavorable rating at 14%. Of course, you will quickly note that most people have no view of her as either favorable or unfavorable as the largest respondent pool is "who?"

shes none of that arbitrary stuff that solves none of our problems or holds any real meaning. she has solid meaningful policy though and that's what I like.

Speaking of arbitrary stuff,

Lincoln Chafee will be running for POTUS as a Libertarian.
https://www.cnn.com/2020/01/06/politics ... index.html

Yeah. That was my basic reaction. Seems totally arbitrary and pointless. I'd be raging about how he could tip the election running third party but I doubt he will.

He did SO well on his metric system platform in the Dem primary in 2016.

Carry on.

You planning on throwing away your vote if you can’t get your way, then?

Why not just write in the Koch brothers and be done with it.

Good for you DJ. You might get Lincoln to 0.0002% of the vote. :D

Decent fella. I think he needs a more compelling political message than "no scandals so far" though. :rw)

I believe in the metric system. Let somebody else put him in charge of converting our country over to it.

There are worse Libertarians. He doesn't seem to be a full-bore Ayn Rand nut job. That's good, I think.

Motor, I'm glad you've fallen in love for the primaries. It's cool. I'm done saying bad stuff about Marianne. Why bother. I'm fascinated you're not a Bernie guy. I would've thought.

... let's talk again in a few months about the GE when Wayne Messam sweeps all the primaries. I kid, I kid.

I like you, so I hope you're not too heartbroken.

Some things she says make sense; never disagreed; she can keep saying them even if she's not our president.

I saw here someone basically saying if either Bernie or Liz are the candidate they will vote rump, because voting 3rd party IS THE SAME thing.

FUCKERS

You might as well vote for rump, although technically I guess it isnt exactly the same.

It is FUCKING insane to do ANYTHING that risks this FASCIST ADMIRING WISHED HE COULD BE ONE WANNABE DICTATOR reelected.

Now now Lib, please don't find fault with the rationality of DJ's position.

The two good things about Lincoln Chafee:
a) no one gives a shit about him so he doesn't pose much threat
and
b) as a Libertarian he could ALSO take some votes from Trump

That's it. I'm out.

Oh and he likes the metric system.

Democrat Marianne Williamson exits 2020 presidential race, saying 'love will prevail'

Williamson won admirers if not voters with a spirituality-focused campaign that promoted a politics of love and of conscience. She advocated a Department of Peace and embraced an economic justice agenda to repair damage done by so-called trickle-down economics.

In a Facebook statement, Williamson said she was suspending her campaign, because she would not be able to get enough votes to “elevate our conversation any more than it is now.”

Nope

Lincoln Chafee files to run for president as a Libertarian

Former Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee, who briefly sought the 2016 Democratic nomination for president, on Sunday filed to run for the White House under the banner of the Libertarian Party, according to CNN.

Chafee filed paperwork over the weekend with the Federal Election Commission for the Wyoming-based campaign, with a website linked to the filing touting the slogans “Lincoln Leads with TRUTH” and “Thirty Years, Zero Scandals.”

Yep, that'll send 'em running to the polls. "I haven't been caught doing anything bad for 30 years!" And his pledge to switch us over to the metric system. Plus, now, that he's a Libertarian instead of a Democrat, liberty something something freedom.

I can see him rocketing into the political stratosphere. :rw)
