If we ever meet in person, I promise I won’t have a weapon in my hand

Post by Libertas »

If we ever meet in person, I promise I won’t have a weapon in my hand, therefore there’s no reason for us to shake hands.

I’ve been on this kick for over 10 years, and I used to take some shit over it because I was an office professional person and I just wouldn’t shake hands and I would explain why it originated and why it is completely unnecessary now and it just spreads germs.

I can’t believe anybody is still doing this.
I sigh in your general direction.

For a while, the fist bump was catching on as an alternative, but now it seems to have declined due to human stubbornness, just like masking. Maybe the new line will become, "You can pass germs to me any time." A bet, indecent proposition, or business deal will be sealed with a germ.

Remember when Barrack and Michelle Obama fist bumped each other and the Alaskan hillbilly vice-presidential candidate claimed it was a "terrorist fist bump?"

Hugs were a popular form of greetings, replacing the handshake, a few years ago and it fell out of use with COVID. Fist bumps became popular and it's still the main form of greeting where I'm at. I kind of like the fist bump because a handshake seems too formal and a hug too personal among acquaintances.

I dont remember that, but I do remember cons like those here losing their minds when Michelle suggested kids should drink more water. They were INCENSED that this N word would tell their kids what to do.

LA got very huggy, especially in the media businesses, but it declined at some point. Fist bumping was actually quite normal for a while, but now it seems to be going the way of masks.

Hugs and handshakes i give to the vaccinated. The others are lucky if they get a fist bump.

Man this one has been bugging me. (i hadn't heard the Jewel one before. 8-) )

i was reminded of another hands song but could not place it at the time. It's been driving me crazy.

So, i'm about ready to fall asleep...... and once again started wondering. Then it hit me...

Hands across the water......
