Pandora’s New Corporate Parents Gave Millions to Trump, GOP

Pandora Media shareholders voted Tuesday to approve its $3.5 billion acquisition by satellite radio company Sirius XM, adding the struggling webcaster and one of Oakland's largest employers to the portfolio of major Donald Trump and Republican Party donors at parent company Liberty Media.

The closely watched acquisition, announced in September and expected to close by March, creates what the companies call the world’s largest audio entertainment company.

Trump’s 2020 campaign manager to freshman Democrats: ‘Turn on Speaker Pelosi’

Brad Parscale, the campaign manager for President Donald Trump‘s 2020 re-election bid, in a proof-less missive is warning freshman House Democrats to “turn on Speaker Pelosi” and vote for the President’s wall.

Despite poll after poll after poll showing the majority of Americans oppose the wall, Parscale claims “Data clearly shows” if they don’t vote for the wall they won’t be re-elected.

More tidbits about Trumpler's ignorance from Time Magazine's John Walcott:

“The first one is the president’s ignorance,” he said. “That goes to the point thinking that Nepal and Bhutan, which incidentally, he also mispronounced as ‘Nipple’ and ‘Button’, were part of India.”

Scoop: Insider leaks Trump's "Executive Time"-filled private schedules---

Why it matters: This unusually voluminous leak gives us unprecedented visibility into how this president spends his days. The schedules, which cover nearly every working day since the midterms, show that Trump has spent around 60% of his scheduled time over the past 3 months in unstructured "Executive Time."

We've published every page of the leaked schedules in a piece that accompanies this item.
To protect our source, we retyped the schedules in the same format that West Wing staff receives them.

Some days, Executive Time totally predominates. For instance, he had 1 hour of scheduled meetings on Jan. 18 (with acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney and Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin) and 7 hours of Executive Time.

Russian lobbyist received suspicious payments around the time he went to infamous Trump Tower Meeting: BuzzFeed News

Rinat Akhmetshin, a Russian lobbyist in Washington, D.C., who attended the infamous Trump Tower meeting with President Donald Trump’s campaign chair and family members, received large, suspicious payments around the time of the meeting, according to a new report from BuzzFeed News.

Donald Trump Jr. arranged the meeting over email during the 2016 campaign, which he was later forced to reveal in 2017 after the New York Times began reporting on it. An associate reached out to tell him that, as part of the Russian government’s efforts to help his father’s campaign, a Kremlin-linked lawyer wanted to meet with him. Natalia Veselnitskaya, the lawyer, and Akhemtshin were among those who eventually met with Trump Jr., Campaign Char Paul Manafort, and the president’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.

A former Trump campaign aide called for two Axios reporters to be investigated for working with a White House official who leaked the president’s daily schedules to them.

Over the weekend, Axios’ Alexi McCammond revealed that she and her colleague Jonathan Swan had been in contact with a White House insider for three months who revealed the president’s private schedules to them.

One of a few reasons why Trump is so obsessed with is dumb border wall idea.

Behind the story: How the Los Angeles Times reported on Tijuana’s massive rise in homicides

TIJUANA, Mexico — Few people know the streets of Tijuana better than Margarito Martinez.

As a crime photographer for Zeta, one of the city’s most respected newspapers, he spends his days and nights steering a dusty minivan from one homicide to the next.

It just came to me today: Donald Trump is the real-life manifestation of “Chance,” the somewhat feeble minded former gardener in the Peter Sellers movie “Being There.” People who encounter Chance, assume his nonsensical ramblings are actually somehow brilliant metaphor, or artful speech. “What do you like to read?” “I don’t read.” “Ah, yes, no one has the time nowadays.”

Ex-Massachusetts governor to challenge Trump for GOP nod

BEDFORD, N.H. (AP) — William Weld, a former Massachusetts governor who ran for vice president on the Libertarian Party ticket in 2016, became the first Republican to take a serious step toward challenging President Donald Trump in 2020.

Speaking Friday at a breakfast in New Hampshire, Weld said he has created a presidential exploratory committee. He blasted Trump for leaving the nation in "grave peril."

Harry Enten at CNN writes, "Trump keeps trying to win a base he's already won, while forgetting everyone else."

Enten is forgetting I suppose, I doubt he does not know this, that Trump's base are of a carnivorous kind who will turn dreadfully rude if not out and out cannibalistic if they are not maintained with a consistent supply of steaming red meat.

It isn't just the constitution. It is the democratic institutions that Trump undermines from the press to the judiciary. Trump is deliberately and with malice undermining democracy.

Those who support him are supporting the undermining of democracy.

Trump's NYC eateries written up for 'live mice,' other 'critical' health code violations in recent months

Their namesake is a Mr. Clean freak, but some Trump-branded eateries are just plain dirty.

Mice in the kitchen, filthy food prep areas and broken sewage systems are on the list of recent stomach-turning health code violations at a number of Trump-branded restaurants in the city, the Daily News has learned.

Maine reporter reveals why he busted Gov. LePage for shelling out thousands of tax dollars at Trump’s hotel

Portland Press Herald reporter Kevin Miller explained to MSNBC’s Kasie Hunt that their goal in revealing Gov. Paul LePage’s (R-ME) tax-payer funded spending at the Trump hotel was more about of the ongoing emoluments lawsuit.

The Press Herald revealed LePage spent more than $22,000 at the Trump Hotel in Washington, D.C. While it wasn’t clear what the purpose was of so many visits. LePage spent the cash on more than 40 rooms from April 2017 to Sept. 2018. The funds weren’t isolated to hotel rooms, however. The money was also spent on meals and parking. One dinner bill at the hotel restaurant cost $362.50, and the most expensive room came in at $1,128.97.

Former Rep. Joe Crowley (D-N.Y.) has joined the “Pass USMCA Coalition” in an effort to help President Donald Trump’s United States-Mexico-Canada trade agreement pass.

Can Congress or the courts reverse Trump’s national emergency?

Sixteen states are challenging President Donald Trump’s national emergency declaration in court.

The lawsuit was filed by California’s Attorney General, Xavier Bacerra. The states argue that Trump’s attempt to use billions of dollars to pay for the construction of a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border is unconstitutional.

Trump called Black Americans ‘stupid’ and claimed US was a ‘sh*thole’ because it was run by Obama: Cohen

President Donald Trump’s racism is far worse than the public is aware, according to his former “fixer” Michael Cohen.

White House bans 4 journalists from Trump’s dinner with Kim Jong-un

Donald Trump will go down in history as one of the most anti-press presidents in United States history, often speaking of “fake news” and describing the mainstream media as the “enemy of the people.” And on Wednesday, February 27, the White House banned four journalists from covering President Trump’s dinner with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un in Hanoi, Vietnam—including reporters who were on assignment from Reuters, the Associated Press, the Los Angeles Times and Bloomberg News.

According to White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the reporters were banned from the event because of “sensitivities over shouted questions in the previous sprays.”

My Pillow founder rouses CPAC with ‘Jesus’ rant: Trump is the ‘greatest president’ because he was ‘chosen by God’

Mike Lindell, a conservative Christian and owner of My Pillow, asserted on Thursday that President Donald Trump has been “chosen by God.”

During Thursday’s Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), Lindell told the audience that Jesus had saved him from alcoholism and crack addiction.
