Watching Four Hours at the Capitol & the most striking thing about the scenes where police are completely overrun by fascists & white supremacists is the fact that their guns stay holstered the entire time.

Meanwhile, a Black or Brown kid reaching in his pocket for ID or moving period presents a clear threat to officer safety. And most juries would agree that that kid can be justifiably murdered according to the perverse logics of policing.

Police didn’t deploy deadly force to prevent the crowd from entering the Capitol grounds or even building because this is precisely who and what policing intends to protect even when it presents a clear danger to officers themselves.

The fascists and white supremacists paint themselves as the “back the blue” crowd and talk shit about BLM and antifa and meanwhile they physically assaulted police and berated them throughout the entirely of the siege.

This highlights the fractured nature of the relationship between police, fascists, and white supremacists. Particularly as it revolves around contests of masculinity. One of the scenes shows a person storming the Capitol tell an officer to “get a real job fag.”
