Chris Christie's candidacy

Post by gounion »

Let me make myself clear about Chris Christie. I would NOT support Christie for President. We know NOTHING about his future policies, I just went to his official campaign website, and it's one page with a couple of videos. Nothing about what HE would do as President. We don't know if he would continue to appoint ONLY Federalist Society-recommended Judges. We know he left a record of broken promises and refusals to make promised pension payments into the plans as Governor of New Jersey. And we know he was quite the bully as NJ Governor. We had that with Donald Trump, we don't need it with Christie.

But for a Republican candidate, he's far above everyone else. He's the ONLY one that would be a old-style Republican that would put the NATION first, not crazy nutzo far-right Trumpian ideology from Trump. He's the ONLY non-Trump candidate.

But he's the ONLY Republican talking sense.

Here he is on PBS's Firing Line: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIv6Ihz1lec

Here he is talking sense at the Town Hall on CNN: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhztrZdd0dE

First part is telling the truth about Trump, but second party is a question about China where he certainly makes sense (5:25 in). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhztrZdd0dE

Both Joe and Glenn have said they support Ron DeSantis for President, who is campaigning to Donald Trump's right, and wants to continue the anti-Constitutional crazed policies of Trump.

Both Joe and Glenn try to sell themselves as not being Trump supporters, which isn't true, and they try to sell themselves as Moderate conservatives, which also isn't true.

Because if you were a moderate conservative that doesn't support Donald Trump, then Chris Christie is the ONLY candidate that you could support.

I wish Mr. Christie well.

Ok. Show the post where I endorsed or pledged to support DeSantis. I haven’t decided who to support. So you lie again.

You're a fucking liar. You've supported DeSantis over and over.

You really are gutless. You run away from everything. You run away from taking any stance on anything.

One thing you can't produce - ONE POST where you criticize Ron DeSantis. Hundreds going after Joe Biden, but not one against Ron DeSantis and Donald Trump.

So you think that entitles you to lie? So if I don’t criticize people you hate you think that gives you permission to just outright lie? Is that an example of the high moral and ethical standards you claim to have. That’s the ethics of a liar.

Produce the post. GoU. Prove it. You’ve been caught in lie after lie over the past few days. When confronted you either double down or run away. Gutless is you.

You produce the post that you DIDN'T 100% support Ron DeSantis. It's clear you do.

Run away again.

You’ve never said a word against DeSantis, you’ve supported everything he’s done.

You’re too scared to say who you voted for in the Governor’s election. That says it all.

You the one running. Show a post that supports what you claim. Otherwise you are lying.

You said Glenn and I support DeSantis for President. So who I did or did not vote for as Gov has nothing to do POTUS. I haven’t said who I will support. So you are lying. You know you are lying.

You say you don’t run away. But that is what you are doing.

Unlike you I’m not scared to answer questions about who and what I support. Why are YOU so scared to?

Who did you vote for Governor in the last election?

You support the democratic party which sponsors the thrive agenda legislation.

One of its main features is cooperative housing and removal of housing from the speculative market. Which sounds very much like socialism and communism.

So using your logic wouldn't that make you a supporter of socialism and perhaps even communism.

No, you have no logic.

Just once again accusing me of being a communist. Something you swore you didn’t mean and only said in anger. You gave me your word you didn’t mean it.

My brother lives in New Jersey. Christie used to be his governor.

Look, I'll give him these props. He seems willing to be the one guy willing to tell it like it is about Trump without pulling punches. That's good. During the debates, Trump will just remind him about Bridgegate and how he was a sycophant until Jared decided he had to go for putting dear old da in prison.

He's the same kind of pugnacious a-hole. Has a bad reputation in NJ for yelling over people, throwing them out of press conferences, turning off their mike if he got tired of the question, yelling at them belligerently and calling them idiots.

Personality wise, you won't be getting an upgrade. He has his own history of corruption and questionable choices to pore over. And let's face it, he could well have served in the Trump admin, it's just that he went to Jared (or Jared's dad).

I obviously disagree with our cons about the job DePutin has been doing as governor here, but you knew that.

No I am pointing out your hypocrisy and demonstrating absurdity by being absurdity.

The thrive agenda which 87 members of your party supports clearly states that one of it's tenants is
Cooperative home ownership and removing housing from the speculative market.
Now that is clearly socialist at best and communism at worst.

So if you claim that supporting DeSantis is support of Trump then wouldn't you and everyone here who is a democrat be subject to the same standard.
And
Finally a person who throws around the term Dear Leader then gets offended by what I wrote is purely a hypocrite.

BTW Prof I don’t disagree with you - I mentioned Christie being a bully. Plus he also praised Trump’s tax cut which shows he really doesn’t care about the economy. There’s no way I’d vote for him.

But he’d be the ONE candidate that DOES care about the future of our country, and the rule of law far more than any of the others.

And where have I made any comment on the “THRIVE Agenda”?

You won't see a vote on it until the 87 comrades 5 of which are in charge of the progressive caucus have enough votes for it ti pass.

At least we have established that there are at least 87 democratic party leaders in the house and senate who are as extreme as the most right wing republican

No, the most right-wing Republicans think that Donald Trump is President and that Joe Biden needs to be jailed for treason.

Correct and I have no problem saying they are wack jobs.
The most extreme left wing democrats want to make home ownership a cooperative and remove housing from the speculative market.
What is your opinion of those lawmakers
