This too might go to the Supreme Court.

Pennsylvania court: congressional map unconstitutionally gerrymandered

(Reuters) - The Pennsylvania Supreme Court on Monday threw out the state’s congressional map as unconstitutionally gerrymandered and gave lawmakers until Feb. 9 to redraw the boundaries, a decision that will have major ramifications for the 2018 midterm elections.

Pennsylvania GOP leader tells state supreme court he will ignore its anti-gerrymandering order

In an audacious move by a political leader who could potentially be held in contempt of court, Pennsylvania Senate President pro tempore Joseph Scarnati (R) informed the state supreme court on Wednesday that he will openly defy one of the court’s recent orders in a gerrymandering case.

Pennsylvania GOP leader tells state supreme court he will ignore its anti-gerrymandering order

In an audacious move by a political leader who could potentially be held in contempt of court, Pennsylvania Senate President pro tempore Joseph Scarlatina (R) informed the state supreme court on Wednesday that he will openly defy one of the court’s recent orders in a gerrymandering case.

Where are the republicans who are always yelling "Rule of Law?" The PA Supreme Court's ruling is "The Law." What part of that doesn't Scarlatina understand?

There's a link hidden in that article to this letter to the court by Scarlatina: https://www.brennancenter.org/sites/def ... -Order.pdf

He's making a simplistic Constitutional defense which in my eyes has no merit, but is none the less typical of some Republicans view of how things are.

I think he is trying to force the court to take it out of the hands of the legislature, to cause the court to draw the maps, and then take that to Federal court. :|
