Women in power? Fuck no, we cant have that. If Nancy cant be speaker, how about

I think way too many progs are falling for Republican fundraising propaganda about NP. It's almost incredible to watch.

But then, a decade ago, a bunch of our friends on the left thought Alex Jones was a hero, since he was anti-Shrubya, too. :problem:

Yeah, I know what you mean.

Did you see where the Backlash administration now has arbitration against Omarosa?

So ridiculous.

I would think by now someone like Steyer would have made it known he would make anyone and everyone whole who signed an NDA and suffers financially by outing the Nazi's and betraying the NDA.

Easy peasy.

@TomSteyer Wanna put your $ to good use? Make it known you will make ANY person whole who goes against an NDA regards Trump. Tell them they can not worry financially, that you will pay for everything. Why has someone like you NOT done this yet?

If all your predictions come true you better have wished for a hidden survival shelter stocked with food and medicine enough to last for a thousand years.

That thousand years of food probably wont last long enough.

:|

But it will be better than nothing.

Rep. Jim Himes: Top 3 Democratic Leaders in Late 70s Is ‘A Problem’

The chairman of the centrist New Democrat Coalition wouldn’t say Friday whether he would back Nancy Pelosi for House Democratic leader but he did vocalize an issue with the current leadership team.

“The fact that our top three leaders are in their late 70s — I don’t care who those leaders are — that is in fact a problem,” Connecticut Rep. Jim Himes told CNN.

Former MSNBC host confronts Senate GOP candidate for saying people are 'sick' of talking about race

Journalist and former MSNBC host Touré confronted Virginia GOP Senate candidate Corey Stewart for saying “people are sick and tired of talking about race all the time.”

Touré, joining Stewart and guest host Rev. Al Sharpton during Saturday’s edition of “AM Joy,” challenged Stewart on his comments, saying that race was part of "everything" in the U.S.

Midterm Elections Blue Wave Looking Doubtful, Says CBS News Head Pollster

The CBS News head pollster has some information for Democrats expecting a Blue Wave to take over the House and more in November’s midterm elections: It’s not looking good.

In Where Did You Get That Number?, a new book out Tuesday from Simon & Schuster, author Anthony Salvanto, the CBS pollster, explains his methodology for tracking the 2016 presidential election, considered one of the biggest upsets in electoral history, and how those lessons apply for the coming season.

There is a point at which that pollster alludes to methodology. He likes repeated focus group interview data, spurns old fashioned telephone random sample polling data.

The Internet focus group outfits seem to always produce numbers which lean more towards Trump. That bias appears to generally be about 3 to 4 percent.

The guy does have data saying what he is saying about it. I've seen it too. But instead of generally spurning that new age Internet focus group kind of polling data like I do, largely ignoring any thing at all which comes out of their sub tabs this guy sucks it in.

A sample of the type of sub tab data which cheesy focus group on-line polling has been coming out with is that recent report that 24% of black voters now approve of Trump.

Uh-huh. :|

The manor of the guys statements show he's not setting aside his personal bias. Without him being more objective he's breaking the rules for being a polling analyst. He's picked his side to cheer-lead and it's not working for us.

Miami Herald throws support behind Republican who says she was abducted by aliens

The Miami Herald has endorsed a Republican candidate running for Congress in Florida’s 27th District that says she was abducted by aliens when she was 7-years-old.

According to The Herald, the editorial board was put in an awkward position by the front-runners in the GOP primary, who refused to sit down with the paper. Another candidate said that he wasn’t interested in the endorsement. It left few options for the paper to consider for their political endorsements. However, they said that they were impressed by business consultant Bettina Rodriguez-Aguilera.

It's a D+5 district. It might not matter what the GOP newspaper does.

Bettina Rodriguez-Aguilera wears a lot of makeup. Probably buys lipstick by the bulk case lot. Buys the neon plastic red kind. A little bit of that color goes a long way. Maybe it attracts space aliens.

Here she is with a space alien:

The Miami Herald is not a GOP newspaper, though they do carry a contingent of RW Cuban columnists. :)

NY Times recommends Dems choose Teachout for AG

The New York Times editorial board is recommending Democratic primary voters choose Zephyr Teachout as their state attorney general nominee.

In an opinion piece published on Sunday evening, the editorial board declared the constitutional attorney is the “best candidate” in the crowded primary field. The other nominees are New York City Public Advocate Letitia “Tish” James, U.S. Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney and corporate attorney Leecia Eve.

California Assembly candidates who lost primary say rival entered race just to lure away Republican votes

Two Orange County, Calif., Republicans who ran unsuccessfully for the state Assembly in June want prosecutors to investigate whether the race’s two other GOP hopefuls worked together to ensure one of them would advance to the November general election.

Greg Haskin and Long Pham, who finished third and fourth, respectively, in the five-man race for the 72nd Assembly District, allege that candidate Richard Laird was “placed on the ballot” by supporters of Tyler Diep — one of the race’s more prominent contenders — “for the sole purpose of siphoning votes away from Diep’s opponents.”

BTRTN Senate and House Mid-Term Snapshot: Still a Split Decision

The headline of our latest mid-term “snapshot” is that the basic dynamic remains the same: the Democrats have an excellent chance to take over the House in November, and an outside chance to do the same in the Senate.

We have new proprietary BTRTN models that calculate the odds of the Democrats taking over each branch of Congress. These odds will be updated frequently and sit atop our “right hand column” (as you can see). If Election Day were today – and it is important to note this is not a prediction, just a snapshot of where things stand -- here are the latest odds of the Democrats taking over the House and the Senate in the 2018 mid-terms.

Democrats just smashed another record, nominating the most women candidates for governor ever

Amidst all of Tuesday’s extraordinary legal drama for the GOP, Democrats were quietly making another bit of history—the good kind—all on their own: With former state House Minority Leader Mary Throne’s victory in Wyoming’s gubernatorial primary, Democrats have now nominated 10 women for governor across the nation. That beats the party’s previous record of nine, set in 2002. (Republicans, by the way, have nominated just four women this year.)

Will Miami’s Black Community Elect Florida’s First Out Gay African-American Lawmaker?

On his campaign to represent a state House district stretching through the heart of Miami’s historically black communities, Cedric McMinn is touting his experience: as a former executive director of the local Democratic Party, as chief of staff to School Board Member Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall, and as an outreach director in Florida for the Barack Obama and Charlie Crist campaigns.

The fact that he is openly gay is incidental, if not irrelevant to his platform.

New Voting Rules Change the Game for Independents in Maine

Not very many states share the history Maine has with policymakers outside the major parties. It currently has 7 voting members in the state legislature not affiliated with the Republican or Democratic Party, it has elected independent governors, and has one of the nation’s only two independent U.S. senators.

Among the sitting independent legislators is Marty Grohman. Grohman is serving out his second term as a member of the Maine State House. Instead of seeking re-election, however, he decided to run for Congress in Maine’s 1st Congressional District.

White House blocks bill that would protect elections

WASHINGTON — A bill that would have significantly bolstered the nation’s defenses against electoral interference has been held up in the Senate at the behest of the White House, which opposed the proposed legislation, according to congressional sources.

The Secure Elections Act, introduced by Sen. James Lankford, R-Okla., in December 2017, had co-sponsorship from two of the Senate’s most prominent liberals, Kamala Harris, D-Calif., and Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., as well as from conservative stalwart Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and consummate centrist Susan Collins, R-Me.
