NCAA Football 2023

Post by ap215 »

I love College Football i was in the middle of browsing the web then i saw a story on this game i was like wow.

Colorado Buffaloes blow 29-point lead as Stanford Cardinal secure shock win in double overtime

(CNN) - With a huge 29-0 halftime lead, Colorado Buffaloes seemed on course for a straightforward victory on Friday against Stanford Cardinal. But an incredible comeback – a record-breaking one, in fact – saw Stanford claim an astonishing 46-43 double overtime win.

For Deion Sanders’ team, it was the largest blown lead in the team’s history, while Stanford enjoyed the biggest comeback in their school’s history. According to ESPN, Stanford overcame the largest halftime deficit in Pac-12 history to win – and it was also the fourth-largest comeback in Pac-12 history.

The Pac-12s days are numbered. Members are defecting to other conferences because with the midwest/southeast TV monopoly they can't recruit players otherwise.

Reports: NCAA investigators have been at Michigan amid sign-stealing probe

The NCAA has reportedly made its way to Ann Arbor.

ESPN and The Associated Press reported Thursday that NCAA enforcement staff this week has been to the University of Michigan as part of its investigation into the sign-stealing scandal that led to the suspension of UM analyst Connor Stalions.

Sources: CFP leaders moving closer to adjusting 12-team playoff format

College Football Playoff leaders continue to move closer to adjusting the postseason format in the wake of realignment.

The CFP Management Committee, the 10 FBS conference commissioners and Notre Dame, is recommending that college football’s expanded playoff field encompass five automatic qualifiers (5) and seven at-large berths (7). The 5+7 format would be a change from the originally approved 6+6 model.

No TRO for Michigan means Jim Harbaugh won’t coach today

Jim Harbaugh won’t be rushing to Beaver Stadium today.

Per multiple reports, Michigan’s request for a temporary restraining order blocking the game-day suspension of Harbaugh has been denied.

UCLA may be looking for a new coach after the latest disastrous season.

https://www.latimes.com/sports/ucla/sto ... zona-state

UCLA of course toils in the shadow of the U$C football machine, so no one in their right mind would want to coach there. There are also many very wealthy people who have dedicated their lives and fortunes to making sure nobody wants to play there.

Now that the Rose Bowl is meaningless, I find myself supremely uninterested in college football. I'd rather watch the stock market reports. Unlike college football, sometimes you actually get something for your investment of time and money.

CFP: Michigan, Washington, Texas, Alabama to vie for title

Michigan, Washington, Texas and Alabama have been selected by the College Football Playoff committee to vie for the national championship, leaving out Florida State - the first time in CFP history an undefeated Power 5 champion failed to finish in the Top 4.

The Seminoles finished fifth despite going 13-0 and winning an ACC championship on Saturday night, down to its third-string quarterback after injuries to starter Jordan Travis (leg) and backup Tate Rodemaker (concussion). Defending national champion Georgia (No. 6), another team with a compelling argument for playoff inclusion, is also on the outside looking in.

There's the problem with college football right there. Leagues with fewer teams in them are won on the field, not in some office somewhere.

What do you say now GOP Officials.

Georgia wins Orange Bowl in 60-point rout of Florida State

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- Carson Beck passed for 203 yards and two touchdowns, backup QB Gunner Stockton passed for two more scores, and No. 6 Georgia routed previously undefeated and fifth-ranked Florida State 63-3 in the Capital One Orange Bowl on Saturday night in a matchup of teams missing out on the College Football Playoff.

The Bulldogs' 60-point win represents the largest margin of victory ever in a bowl game, surpassing Georgia's 65-7 win over TCU in the 2023 CFP championship game, according to ESPN Stats & Information research. It's also the largest margin of victory against an AP top-five opponent in the AP poll era (since 1936).

It's an all Blue State unbeaten head to head National Championship battle.

CFP National Championship first look: Michigan vs. Washington

All season, it was "Michigan vs. Everybody" within the walls of the Wolverines' program.

Now it's down to Michigan vs. Washington.

Nice to see a SEC-free championship game for a change.

The real problem is of course on the West Coast, where the games air at inconvenient times if at all, greatly complicating recruiting of players since people involved in the process tell high school prospects that they won't get as much attention from the NFL. This is why the Pac-12 is breaking up. Therefore it's even nicer to see Washington in there.

Iirc, a bunch of FSU players opted out of playing because they were left out of the playoff. I guess they really showed everybody.

Bottom line for me is college football is a joke. It is nothing more than the minors for the NFL.

College football is indeed a joke. The current problem is that the SEC is in the perfect location for TV scheduling, so it gets all the players. You can't tell me that, say, U$C doesn't recruit just as heavily as the SEC schools, when half the rich types in LA are out trying to buy players. But players like to be in those Eastern TV games.

I'm calling it 2024 is the year of President Joe Biden Congratulations Michigan Wolverines.

Michigan wins national championship 34-13, summiting Washington in Houston

HOUSTON — It had almost started to fade.

Victors valiant. Conquering Heros. Champions of the West.

Words that had once invoked so much, slowly dulling to a blunt edge. They certainly hadn’t lost all their meaning, but the punch those lauded lyrics packed was perhaps no longer the same. An antiquated Michigan football program stumbling its way into the new millennium.
